Gives off the appearance as being DMPL.

Could it be a MS63DMPL, or is that an insult. Can't really judge the reflectivity of the fields, but it doesn't appear to have as the chatter one usually sees on mid-grade DMPLs, and maybe I've been too critical of the activity on Liberty's face. FROM THE SCAN, I would be surprised if it were graded higher than 64DMPL. Regardless, it appears to be a nice looking coin, with equal contrast on both sides.

Super nice! I'll trade you my 1900 O Morgan in Au for it. image
  • I'm sure no expert on Morgans but I know what I like and I like that coin. Strong strike and nice eye appeal.
Buy the coin...but be sure to pay for it.
  • I guess 63 DMPL

Very nice Morgan. I wouldn't begin to guess the grade, pictures just don't show luster. It looks DMPL though. mdwoods

MS65/66DMPL is my quess. Very sharp looking coin. I like it. I now go in corner and drool with head hung low. image

By any chance is this from the Red Field Hoard? and do you have a close up of the mint mark to show?

  • MS 63 DMPL. If the marks as shown on the face are real I think it keeps it from being a 65!

  • Okay - enough of you know already...

the slab DOES indeed have the "DMPL" designation.

It is MS. But as far as the actual number....I'm going to hold back on that a bit. The difference in value, once out of the 63 designation, is tremendous.....

Okay, so it's ABOVE 63 - and as soon as I get a chance, I'll try and post a real picture rather than scans - they are so injust when it comes to frost - pics tell a better story with the right light.

And the chatter in the face is a trick of the scanner, IMO. It isn't all that busy.

64DMPL unless chatter on cheek is just breaks in the frost, then MS65DMPL.

  • Okie doke - it's a.....or is it AN...?

    MS64DMPL

Jeremy had it absolutely correct earlier.....of course, he knows a lot about computers and websites and searches and I think he cheated imageimage Same as Loki image

It'll be sweet when I get it crossed - it's currently in an SEGS holder but I think it'll crossover to an ANACS slab- heck - I may even crack it out and send it to PCGS and see what they say (probably bodybag it for bein' too dang purdy)...but we shall see and when I find out, I'll let you guys know.

Thanks a bunch for the opinions -I thought it looked pretty nice meself image

I didn't even think to cheat this time... I just saw the DMPL and thought it looked to good for a 63... but just missed a 65...

Jeremy... so what do I win?
