FUN Show Toning Seminar

Andy Kimmel will hold a seminar at the up coming FUN Show which will cover but not be limited to the pricing of toned coins, what causes toning, and how to detect artificial toning.
This will be a very good seminar for newer toned coin collectors who do not have a full and proper understanding of the ins and outs of toned coins.
If It doesn't have great eye appeal, I don't want it.

  • Neat. I have been to Bob Campells seminar twice before and it would be neat to see it from a different persons perspective. I will be there.

I have attended a couple of Andys Seminars before. I have always found them to be interesting and accurate.

OK, Color me ignorant (bad pun). But where is FUN?
  • Florida United Numismatists. It is in Orlando during January 7-12.

The Florida United Numismatists (FUN) show is held in Orlando each January. Not sure, but I think it's the second weekend this year.
I've been to Andy's seminar too and he is very informative and he usually brings some real Monsters for show and tell.
  • I'll put in a recommendation for the FUN as well and I might just attend that forum if I can. The show typically has as many dealers as the ANA and is in a great city to visit. I've been there the last 3 years and will be back this year. Hope to see y'all at the forum

Do you have to pre-register? I may feel like driving down there. Did it last April. Took a zillion hours... Felt like, anyway!
  • Andy is sharp on the toned coins, a good guy you can really trust and is very helpful, I have ordered some toned morgans off of his webb site and sent a monster silver washington to him for his opinion on the toning and he sent it to pcgs and had it slabbed for me., very trustworthy, Could'nt ask for more knowlegable and helpful collector and dealer. He has handled some true monsters.

There is no registration required for the seminar. A walk in basis.

his web site address is rainbowtoning.com/paragonnumismatics/index.html. He has a very user friendly web site for purchasing and a great picture archive of some really nice toned coins also.

PS: if this doesnt get you to the site, just do a search on the web for rainbow toning and paragon numismatics should come up in the first few hits.

If anyone see Mr. Kimmel why don't you ask him why he doesn't come out to CA (Long Beach) any more? I haven't seen the guy in at least SIX years....

Andy has cut way back on shows that he attends. He makes the FUN Show and Central States, although this year he also made the Silver Dollar Show in St Louis.

Art: Thanks. That what I thought. Here's a wierd story: I was browsing some mags at the book store about 4 years ago and I picked up a Stereo Review (or something similar) and there was a letter to the editor in there from an Andy Kimmel of Wisconsin. Now what are the chances of me seeing that article just at the time? It had to have been him...he must be into home theater or something. Odd coincedence.

    JOM,

That was interesting. If you check out his website, you'll see that he's also into music....at least some guitar players.

Toners (allen) Thanks for the info. I really want to try to get to the show. It should be a nice break from the cold up hear in the northeast.
