Picture is small, but............... THAT GEM HAS MORE COLOR THEN I DO EVEN AFTER I PUT ON MY MAKEUP!!!!!!

Love the rainbow effect, this to me is the nicest toning to be found on a Frankie..... It's a better looking 'MONSTER' then the one ClarkofKent posted awhile back!

  • Thanks Lucy, know the pic is small, the colors really stand out in person, with it almost 100% toned on the obverse, reverse has just a small amount of rim toning.

Looks very colorful, but the picture is so small. What's the story behind the coin? Did you find it in a mint set? Buy it slabbed? It looks like a really nice frankie.

  • Carl,
I bought it about 3 years ago from a Clines rare coins in Augusta Georgia, outside of Fort Gordon. He broke up the mint set and sent the halves to PCGS, it actually had a twin that graded 66 FBL also but the colors were more vibrant and complete on this one. Wish I had picked up the other one up also, by the way, we still have our bags packed and are on standbye.
    Thanks

  • I think that's a great pickup, Allen. That you know it comes right out of a mint set is very appealing to me. I love coins like that. A lot of the coins from the 57 and 58 mint sets took on some real dazzling color. Yeah, it's too bad you didn't get the other one, but I would be real happy with the one you have, if I were you.
    Great coin.

Very nice coin Allen. Even with the small pic I can still see the beautiful colors and it looks like a "monster" to me. Congratulations!

Hope you will be able to unpack your bags on this side of the world.
  • Thanks Richard, I value your opinion highly, I am trying to enlarge the scan with my illiterate computer skills.

Thanks Allen. While I may have some experience with the toned market, please don't ask me anything about computer skills, I'm about as dumb as a box of rocks in that department LOL, but I'm not laughing.
