Anyone watching HSN coin collector show?

Their prices seem a little steep to me.

Give me your good change please. I'll take it from here, nurse.

I can't stomach watching that show and thinking of the social security checks going toward that junk hyped as collectible coins and the grandparents thinking they are doing their grandchildren right by purchasing such tripe. I did watch it for nearly half an hour once and left the tube feeling physically ill - not again.

  • I watched the show last night.Everything is rare to them. How about the way they stack the 1964 kennedy halfs. You can see the abrasions on the one that sits on top of the others.I believe thay wanted $190 + for the roll. They sure were trying to push the $50 gold pieces.IGSMS70.Do you think the information they gave is true about the Gold pieces?I would like to have a couple of those.Their price is $699 plus shipping. Are they worth it?

I think you would be VERY hard pressed to get the type of premium being charged for grade on modern gold. In fact, I would recommend you step away from the TV s-l-o-w-l-y.

I am watching this show right now and they are hawking MS69 Silver Eagles - three for $99.00. I would guess you could buy these for $30.00 ungraded, which would be worth about teh same as the MS69's - as I doubt you could ever find a buyer.

The hawker is claiming the same coins in MS70 would run over 2000 for just one little itty bitty grading point more than these for $99.00.

Is it too drastic to say these people should be lined up and shot?
