Just got a result back from PCGS... I sent in two 1958-D Lincoln cents straight from a mint set with beautiful, colorful toning. One went 65RB, which shows a pop of 1/1 for that grade designation, and the other went 64RB which is shown at 4/2. What fun!

was on a Mercury dime as well. I just love statistics, I think most numismatists do, I used to read
populations of cities and countries in atlases when I was a kid, needless to say, my mom was a little
concerned, I just get a kick out of statistics, In numismatics, numbers are also fun. Have fun collecting.

I know it's not like getting a 32-D Wash to go 67 or anything, but I still think it's fun. The other cool thing is, they are just really pretty little jewels.

I was responding to Brian, Itsnotme in that last post.
Thanks for the congratulations. A tiny little victory, that brings me small amounts of joy. This is two submissions in a row I have gotten what I wanted and more from PCGS. So, inspite of the turmoil there, I shall tip my hat to them. Thank you.

most truly nice and deep toning will not result in a full red, so connoseurs like us will have to
settle for RBs.

The 58's are tough, along with the 57's. Good job!
That's the grade I look for too. Just as long as PCGS authenticates the toning. Some of these are so beautiful, what with the greens and maroons and purples, you can just bet PCGS would bodybag them. It's great when they don't.

Just out of curiosity, have you ever brought it to their attention?
With all the things I've been reading of late, I was keeping my fingers crossed they wouldn't get bagged. Even though I knew I took them from an original mint set. Phew!

I've mentioned it several times, but they don't seem to care. I think they don't want to show any of these coins in the pop reports.
I think mine is a 1970-D in 64RB. I recently got another coin back with RB that is toned purple. I haven't checked to see if it is in the pop report, but I bet it isn't.
