it was just at one location here in Knoxville, TN. polls opened at 8 o'clock but no ballots until 9:30. it's causing a big stink, since many people were initially told to go home. not the first time voters have been turned away here either.
Voted this morning. Wife and daughters will do so this afternoon. Second daughter gets to vote for the first time. Oldest daughter turned 18 two years ago on Nov.6th, voted the next day.

I voted three weeks ago, it's nice not to have to stand in line but the fact that a majority of the Militarys votes don't get counted eeerks me. I voted for who I think could do the best job no party lines for me. I did do my first write in - voted for Mickey mouse for a city election Only one person on the ballot and no one can stand him so the who town is doing a write in this should be good

In Arkansas we vote early and often and occasionally even after we've died. Seriously, at many of the polls in central Arkansas today, the voter registration roles are incomplete and approximately 20% of legally registered voters are not listed on the roles. I saw more than a few flaring tempers. Of course the Democrats blame the Republicans and the Republicans blame the Democrats. Ah...ain't politics grand?
Please vote, and vote for what truly protects freedom: limited and accountable Government, coupled with community discipline and individual responsibility.

That Clinton sign is hilarious....And they spelled all the words right too! The Liberal, left wing, socialist, Viet Congs would burn a cross on my lawn if I ever posted something like that here in Noo Yawk! Twowood
It has been interesting watching one of our senatorial candidates advertising on the front page of CNN's web site. Very interesting! (Hers has been a gazillion-dollar blitz to replace Jesse).
There weren't any bears on the ballot (would most certainly have voted for them).
this post was a waste of time. If everybody posts just one worthless item ........................ you know. And please don't tell me to lighten up. This post could NEVER be less than a waste of time, but could have even started a debate of some sort. US coin forum........remember. Sorry coindaughter. I usually enjoy your posts but with all the other nonsence going on it just hit me the wrong way. I won't even go back to the other forum as it has now completely broken down.

oh - and I voted too!
edit: Sorry - didn't answer the question did I? Not a monthly show. There was one a couple of months ago, but it was fairly lame.

No apologies needed, LincolnSense. I thought that someone may not appreciate a non-coin thread. I even thought about relating voting to what our currency represents...Washington, Franklin, Lincoln, Ike, Roosevelt, Kennedy, Native Americans, Miss Liberty, Peace, Susan B, and Ms. Sacagawea (I hope I didn't leave anyone out!). Frankly, I thought that was too obvious, and just wanted to express my opinion that it is important to do our civic duty. So, I just made it simple and hit "post."
by not voting today, i voted to scrap our entire corrupt, nepotistic system of bribery and start anew - just like the constitution says. i'll probably be in the majority too along with nearly 70% of the population.

WSM, sounds like you are a little bitter... liberals always hate it when people don't agree with them especially at the voting booth... no one is as smart as the 'enlightened' left - right?? Besides, what is wrong with the Waltons? you probably refer to the American heartland as 'fly-over' country...
Without the right to vote we probably wouldn't be able to post to this forum. After 9/11 I celebrate voting with my whole family. We've been voting together since my children were old enough to vote. Thanks coindaughter!

ROTFLMAO! In Arkansas we had good news and bad news when Slick took his show on the road to DC.
Good News: We got a new Governor.
Bad News: The then new governor is now a convicted Whitewater felon.
I am a former resident of the East Hill in Kent. Do they still have the monthly coin shows downtown?
