opinions on this toned Franklin

Let me know you thoughts on the REVERSE of this PCGS MS65 57 FBL Franklini I purcahsed on EBAY from fellow board member MMCOIN this weekend. Rim toning on obverse is a little more orange that photo, but reverse is what makes this coin special to me.
Thanks in advance
Allen

  • I like the toning. It looks great. original and not too dark.

Hi Allen. It looks pretty nice to me but it's hard to tell from his pics. I've seen his auction pics and I can't quite figure out what he does to make the coins look that way. If you like it, though, that's all that matters.

From the slightly fuzzy pics, it looks lke a nice, originally toned piece to me with a pretty reverse and nice coloration, good job!

  • Really interesting reverse color. Can you post a freash scan after you get the coin?
Buy the coin...but be sure to pay for it.

You meant to say "MNMcoin," not "MMcoin." At $55 you didn't overpay. I've seen several of Morris's other scans that appear to have this very unusual yellow/orange color. I suspect that the reverse will be darker than shown, with perhaps a more reddish/orange hue. But, in either case I think it will be nice (and original).
  • Toners; With all this talk about AT'g and our inability to spot AT coins without doing a chemical analysis, aren't you leery about buying "Toners" on the open market? Look at the guy who posted a story about losing 15 G's on a coin that started to turn when he got it home. What do you do to protect yourself? Twowood
