is this $5 indian real?

      Mike- What makes you think its fake and how could anyone tell from that image?

      It looks like gold - with splotches of copper mixed in - raw gold is very risky to buy sight unseen - raw gold is very risky to buy unless you know what to look for - I think melt value on something like that is less than $100 -> 8.3590 grams / 90% gold / 28.2495 grams / ounce -> if it is truly real -> lots of fake sti=uff has came from Europe

      Thanks guy's, low price and being aware that this series is commonly faked is why I question if it's real. mike image

      You can't tell if it is real from this picture. One place to check is in the recessed area where the Indian's ear would show if he was not wearing a tassel. If you can spot raised lines and tooling marks there with a 10X glass, the coin is bad. That’s a tough place for the counterfeiters to get right.
