If you could put all your coins in any slab you choose!

Forget about the Registries! If you had your choice of free grading for all your coins, which would you use? Only one stipulation, you have to feel confident that none submitted deserve a bodybag, I dont want you choosing a service because you think the one you really like would just bodybag some! Swallow your pride and tell the truth. Remember, the Registries dont exist! Im curious to see how these figures match with the ones you see advertized.

Change that we can believe in is that change which is 90% silver.

For aesthetic purposely only, I like the looks of the NCS slab! PCGS is 2nd.
  • Well here's a pipe dream. I'd like to own the coins I have now, coins I bought with the safe guarding of third party grading but I want slabs to never have been invented. I wish I could hold my coins in my hands (properly of course). I'd like to view them without the glare of the plastic. I want to be intimate with my coins, I feel like I'm visiting someone in prison. Someone is going to tell me to crack them out but slabs are here and I have to play by their rules and they need to be in slabs (PCGS).

Can I have a mix? I collect mostly classical silver coinage, and I prefer toning. The white cores of the NGC slabs go well with toned silvers.

For my white coins, and even gold, I prefer the old black cores. In their absence, I prefer PCGS. I find the clear plastic holders from ICG and SEGS to be too translucent for my liking.

GSA, the only coins I trust to be unaltered are found in slabs from the government.

Honestly? It doesn't exist. I have some problems with all the grading services. Picking any one of them involves compromises. Maybe I need to start my own slabbing service....

I'd go with PCGS for my Morgans and NGC for my type set, kindda like I am doing now!

Hey - let's make it more interesting:

Which grading service would you choose if you HAD TO LIVE BY THE FIRST GRADE ASSIGNED? That's right, no cracking it out and resubmitting it? You have to keep it in the original holder and when it comes time to sell, you have to sell it in that holder as well.

PCGS still. They are the most consistent graders and have the most attractive holder...

Does anyone know how one can find out WHEN a coin was encapsulated by PCGS?
Is there a database available somewhere to search to find this out by entering the number of the coin?

I just wanted to add that PCGS could/should do more to attribute varieties...
