Coin Man's Prayer

Oh God!
We thank you for blessing us so richly with computers and discretionary income for coins and other artifacts of history.
We ask that you would bless us on our way to coin shows, that we might not speed and run over innocent children and animals, and that you would give us the strength on our return journey to not look at our recent picks while weaving in and out of traffic on the interstate or at least to have the wisdom to hold them slightly above the top of our steering wheel so we can look upon the Barber Half in PCGS PR68 and so that we may also see the 18 wheeler that has stopped in front of us.
We ask a special blessing on those of us with humble collections, that we may know that it isn't the value of the collection but rather the care with which it is assembled that is most important. We also pray for those like Jay Parrino, whose possessions we covet.
We pray for those among us who have not the strength to resist ugly coins. Help them to see the beauty of truly gorgeous coins be they a well-struck lightly circulated Bust Dollar or a humble 38-D Buffalo Nickel with monster toning. Help them to gain self control and the ability to save for a truly desirable piece.
We ask that you give us the strength not to test your love for us by once again spending the rent money on yet another coin we simply can't live without.
We pray that our debtors would come into money soon, so that they may pay us and grow in self-esteem, and we pray for our own prosperity so that we may pay our creditors in a timely fashion so as to ease their concerns and to enable them to pay their creditors, who in turn will probably pay our very own debtors which will enable them to pay us and again, grow in self-esteem.
We ask that you empower the lurkers to share their knowledge and experience with us, and we ask that you heal the inevitable wounds they will incur by opening up and becoming a part of this message board.
We ask that you give us strength to endure those with digital diarrhea who post only for the sheer joy of watching their count go up. Be also with those whose flames are weak and lead them to believe that someone actually watches but is too afraid to retaliate. Be also with those whose sabers are sharp that they may save the eviscerating hack for coin certification company owners who prey on new collectors and those with deficient powers of discernment.
We ask a special prayer on those of us with unknowing spouses. Help us not to bring them breakfast in bed on the weekends for the sole purpose of obtaining permission for yet another acquisition but so that we may love them as if they were our truly finest known.
Help us to keep collecting in our minds, in the place it belongs, as a hobby, not as a method of salvation.
And finally Lord, we pray that we may always treat each other kindly. Give us the strength to overlook the faults of each other so that we may come here into this community and be blessed rather than motivated to pull out what remaining hair we each still possess or to flame a poor innocent child who simply posts with the intent of looking like an adult with a mental disorder and a well worn dictionary.
Amen.

The only thing necessary for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing.
<< <i>give us the strength on our return journey to not look at our recent picks while weaving in and out of traffic on the interstate >>
Cool - at least I'm not the only one who does this! LOL
And please let indianmancorvette finish his collection of Buffalo's so I won't have to bid against him much further.
(celestial voices of the choir) - "Ah-men, Ah-men, Ah- ah- ah-men !
OK, so we disembowel Hagar, but isn't PCGS publicly traded?
and it sets us apart from practitioners and consultants. Gregor
An
"Hack"? Hmmm...this gives me an excellent idea.
I just sent this to you in a PM, but since you do everything in public then I'm going to post it here, too.
So go puke. I welcomed you back, and I welcomed him back.
What makes you so bitter, man?
Carl
Anaconda likes comic books!
I don't want this thread to be knocked off course with this stuff. If you want to talk to me further, PM me. None of it will see the light of the forum. I promise.
<< <i>I wouldn't post a PM someone sends me without their permission. I can post what I myself write and will stand behind.

The courage to upgrade the coins I can,
And the wisdom to know the difference.
