Nice coins all - I actually picked up 3 raw toned BU/MS lincolns at my last show. One even has rainbow rim toning - at least I thought it was unusual. The price .50

  • I have two 58-D's at PCGS right now that came out of a mint set. Really beautiful colors. I haven't a clue how they'll grade them. Heck, they might bodybag them for all I know, the way things are going lately. I know they won't grade 67, I guess I will be happy if they come back 63 up... they're just pretty little coins. And I sent them in for fun. I'm really gaining an appreciation for toned Lincolns.

    Love the colors,nice coin.
Clankeye,I have been going thru rolls and rolls of lincolns and put aside all the toned one's and just recently decided to put together a set showing stages of toning.Trying to stay away from the more sudle tone otherwise i'll have a thousand of themimage. And prefere to have them in 2X2 holders.Al

As long as we're having fun with these- I just picked up this beauty last week. Cool surprise? It was in its NGC holder reverse side up!

  • Nice toned lincolns everyone. Jom, that one you have is outstanding. Here's two of mine that I scanned awhile back(had to lighten up the color b/c of the cheap scanner)

They look simular to the ones I pulled from an old Whitmen folder but mine were mostly pitted /carbon,A good thing to longimage.
Pat,That coin is a beauty and I like the deep vivid colors.Out of the 50 or so I own I only have a few that come close to those colors.Al

Holy crap! Nice coins! I forgot about this thread...until now. Nice 1916 proof!

I can NEVER find this type of toning on copper. I just happened to be walking by a booth at the Long Beach show...not many of these around I suppose. Most toned copper is ugly to me....
