would you consider this coin toned?

I know its an ancient coin, but you guys are the experts.

  • I am not a collector of ancient coins, but I would say no.

    What would your slabbed coins be worth if the grading services went out of business? What would your coins be worth if the Internet was taken offline for good?

    Looks stained rather than toned, to me anyway. That seems like a nice one, usually coins from the Tiberius time frame are much more worn.

    Doesn't look toned to me. I've had a little experience (very little) with ancients, almost certainly cleaned (the norm, I believe) but not AT'd. Voice of amateur - should be taken with grain of salt.
  • most ancients have been cleaned. I just lightened the scans, and after viewing them, I would say its not toned, just "dark areas". Thanks for the input guys.....
