As a result of the Coin World article I thought I'd see where the membership stood. Thanks.

    Keets,

You forgot NTC. They're working hard to unseat ACG as the king of sleaze.

What's this?? Another unscientific, unfair survey of biased public opinion?? It's OBVIOUS you're slanted here, Keets. I'm shocked (SHOCKED), and disavowal your inevitable findings.

Wait'll CoinWorld finds out about this!
  • PushkinPushkin Posts: 2,029 ✭✭✭
Yea, I voted already, but NTC wasn't there - might have had to think about it for 0.0001 sec.

Also insulted, where is PGS?image Shows you have no respect for the little guy, no respect at all.image

This is nothing but an elitist, cliquish, attempt to give a lot of publicity to the big guys!image

Bwhaa......BWWHHAAA.................BBWWWHHHHHAAAA..................... imageimageimageimageimageimage Unfair Survey - BIASED AGAINST LITTLE GUYS!!!

I want to take my vote back - it is nothing but elitist snobbery that snubs and shuns the little guyimageimageimage.

PGS has every right to be included - got to call my attorney!!! Give me my vote back you elitst snobs!!!! No respect for newcomers!image

(Clankeye - you getting all this?)

I agree with Pushkin. I've seen some PGS slabbed coins and they look to be accurately graded and a nice no BS approach. They should be included.

I don't know if I should vote or not, I would hate to mess up a survey, and I am not an authorized dealer of any service.image

  • keetskeets Posts: 25,351 ✭✭✭✭✭
    LOL!!! bgman

being an authorized anything is not a requirement for this survey. in fact, the only requirement is that you have an opinion. we can't get more unscientific than that, can we??? you see, i'm going with the stretch that each voter will have done his/her own little scientific study to arrive at the bias as reflected in the vote. i did mine to the tune of about $300 invested with no return as yet realized.

    ROTFLMMFAO! Too funny.
  • Keets,

Consider yourself lucky. I'm out $2600 because of Accugrade (What an oxymoron).

I thought about doing such a survey, but, didn't know how to set it up. Good job! - even though "unscientific".

Well, I only lost about $800, but it still sucks. The only thing that saved me was the old,"This seems to good to be true", and it was. Nothing like buying an MS68 Morgan for $325image

ttt for more responses. it would be more informative with a larger pool of answers. any other respondents?

Alphabetical... And we still know who comes out on top!

    hey neil

what cracked me up about the alphabetica order is that i did it that way so nobody could whine about the order the services were listed in. and then when the thread is entered it turns out that the first option listed is already checked!!! the majority of respondents have only had to scroll down to click on the "vote" button. kind of ironic the way it worked out.

  • Hi Al,

Hmmm... well one way to interpret your poll results would be to say that ANACS, ICG, NGC, PCI,SEGS,NTC and PGS are ALL better than PCGS since they received less votes as being the worst image

I'd like to hear from the 7 people who rated PCGS as the worst. (This reminds me of the survey of engineering companies which showed that IBM was both the best liked and most hated.)

    hey nwcs

i notice the apparent conflict in your post and bi-line. what strikes me as funny is that i believe halloween had it's origin as all-saints-eve or something like that. at any rate, it was originally not what it's morphed into today where it seems to be about the "dark side" of the human experience.

there aren't many trick-or-treater's that come down my street and even less who stop at my house. i think they think it's haunted!!!!!image quite to the contrary since i found my resting place.

to all-------i find it ironic that we seem to have a two horse race here. not even close to neck-and-neck down the back stretch, but a little expressed angst towards PCGS i would imagine. ANACS and SEGS would appear to be right in the middle of the road, not prominent enough to really corner a large share of the grading market yet doing nothing to really turn anyone off totally. a good niche to fit into!!!

Well, the way I think of it is that there are some things you can make a big deal out of and some you can work with. I don't have a problem with halloween because regardless of its origins it is now a pretty bland "holiday." Same reason why I rarely hear of atheists arguing they should work on Christmas day or Thanksgiving.

You know, I just had an idea. We could give out ACG slabs to the trick or treaters. They ask for a treat and we trick them! image

    Well Keets,

There you go again, showing your obvious bias against the little guy by leaving out PGS in your summary. PGS, struggling hard to supply the "Best Customer Service in the Industry". Its OK, PGS won't whine, cry, or make false accusations, threaten to leave the forum, or threaten legal action (can't afford a mean and nasty attorney like that other company basking in the southern sunshine, showing off massive locks of golden 1960s hair - is it AT'd). PGS will just plug away, providing the "Best Customer Service in the Industry". image Plug, plug, plug.

Clankeye - you getting all this?image

My Grades on the grading companys>
Pcgs B They Need to Be more Consistent for the common collector...
Ngc C They Need A lot Of Work But Seem To Be trying...
Anacs C- I have gotten more upgrades in anacs holders!!!!

All the others should just get out of the coin grading business

The only trouble with survey was that ACG was marked as soon as the choices came up on my screen. I didn't even have to point and click. Was that intentional?

    hey pushkin

i gotta be honest, the only reason i left PGS off in the first place is because i have no experience with them what-so-ever. can't even tell you what the initials stand for. i do think there was one of their slabs at a club auction back 3-4 months ago because i remember sending a PM to conder101 about it-----i'd have to check to make sure. if it was them, the coin looked OK but it was a common date morgan that i had no interest in. i'm familiar to some extent with all the others, either through ownership or opinion from looking at slabs in hand/online. as per my previous post, maybe PGS will end up where SEGS and ANACS are, content with their "middle-of-the-pack" status and serving a useful purpose for collectors.

    OK Keets,

Fair enough - here are some examples:

    hey bill jones

if you notice in one of my previous replies i spoke directly to that. from what i understand, whenever a poll is started the first choice is automatically checked off when the thread is entered, not unlike a lot of net stuff where there are several choices. the only difference being that at a web site or even in a windows option the most obvious choice is usually checked. hey, come to think of it, that's the same way this worked out!!!!image

    hey pushkin

i guess i'd have to say ya got me!!!!!!!!!!! image

as it turms out the slervice i had asked mike about was IGS and not PGS. one thing about the PGS holders, you have a corner on the market so you can control price relevant to rarity of slab!! what an edge.

Ok, who are the three wizenhimmers who voted for PCGS?!

  • nwcsnwcs Posts: 13,386 ✭✭✭
So what is this survey telling us about the opinions of the people on this board? image
  • dorkkarldorkkarl Posts: 12,691 ✭✭✭
if it was a scientific survey, it would not have been asked in that manner, becasue you are asking for an opinion. a scientific survey would have been seeking facts.
