Tone people what do you think of this one?

Looks to be Wayte Raymond album toning. I couldn't help myself on this one. I bought it raw which I never do, and there is a good return on it. Not a bad price either but thats not what I was looking for. I really like the looks of this piece. And it's a better date also.

I have hardly bought anything off ebay and it being raw at that.

But like I said I couldn't help myself on this one. I feel it's probably 62-63 although I've seen worse in 64 holders. Anybody want to guess?

Thanks for the input all. I look forward to receiving this piece and hopefully no surprises. But I feel it will be fine. The image from the seller was bigger and more detail but had to cut it down for the board.

You have the coin to look at, so it would behoove me not to challenge your grade, but, it looks better than MS63 in the scan and DEFINITELY better than a 62. Is there mucho bagginess that I can't see? I mean, MS62 is kinda' like relegating the coin to a below average status, and that doesn't look like a below average coin.

I think you would be pleasantly surprised if you had it graded, that is, unless you feel the picture makes the coin look more attractive than it really is. The pic looks like a lock 64 bordering on gem to me.

edited to add: Initially, I thought the coin was a '96-S and voiced my opinion based on the characteristics of that year. Now that I can see it is an '86-S, then I withdraw the "gem" comment, and I still doubt it would go as low as MS62, but 64 is not out of the question, with the same caveat. (You have the coin ...)

The 86-S is a terrific date and it has nice subtle coloring, I think you have yourself a winner.

I do not have the coin in my hands yet. I am usually pretty conservative on grading. But I did mention earlier I've seen worse in 64 grade. Thanks for the comments. In other words I guess I'm saying I didn't buy this thinking it would grade higher than 62-63. If I get surprised all the better.
