Everyones got one I bet. That coin your sure no one else has.Not just an odd RPD,OMM,DD,etc...but that unique error of some kind.Your sure its worth a ton of money, but its difficult to have everyone else see it the way you do.
I have a `99 silver S Proof Dime with `golden` olive leaves on the left side of the reverse.
I think its maybe unique but its a minor alloy-mix error I,ve been told.I agree its minor (gotta use a loupe to see it well) but its a neat thing to have I guess.
Whats your unique coin.True or perceived.

Ok.I bet I have the lowest pop........threads than ANYONE here.
Thats pretty special huh.......
Theres my moniker right there.
I've been thinking about your thread and which coin I felt was unique in my collection. I don't have a whole lot that's very unique or out of the ordinary, but I do have a few favorites that I think are unique onto themselves. One of my favorites is this one:
To most people it may not be anything out of the ordinary, but to me it's a very unique coin. First of all, you don't see this color combination on a lot of Franklins. And you don't usually see this color combination particularly on 60's Franlins, which, if they're toned, tend to be rather drab (not always!). Anyway, a couple of other unique features about the coin is how well struck it is. It's in a PCGS 65 holder, but the strike is as bold as any I've ever seen on a Franklin. Very detailed and carved. The bell lines are surprisingly strong, although you can't see it on this picture. One unfortunate hit on the bottom bell lines keep this coin from being as strong a FBL coin as I've ever seen in the 60-63 portion of the series. Finally, the coin has amazing luster under the toning which gives the piece a really neat - almost lacquered quality to it. The coin is not part of my registry set, but as soon as I saw it I fell in love with it, so now it resides with the rest of the "gems" in a little spot all to itself.

So, I consider that it is highly likely to be unque, and in any event certainly the finest known (or unknown).
Actually, I have a DDR Proof 73 Clad Ike, a 77 Proof Die Crack Quarter that are worth nothing, but since I found them I like'em. I also just got a 1922 Toned Peace that's either VAM 4 or 8 and is in the Top 50 hottest VAMs. Gotta send that one off to ANACS soon.

Frank,
That 1962 Half is a tough find!!! The great majority of gem 1962 Franklins will be brilliant or have lousy toning. That one is really nice!
"Every coin is special, every coin is pure."
I think I got that right
Unfortunatley, it was only a rumor, started by yours truly (actually, none of this is true, not even the part about my starting the rumor). That sure would qualify as a "unique coin", though, wouldn't it?
I was offered that coin. I passed. Technical grade was right on the money, but the eye-appeal was marginal.
I also had a machine doubled 1899-O that has dramatic doubling over most of the reverse lettering. I thought it was a double die, until someone popped my bubble. It is still pretty cool nonetheless.

Now, let's hear no more such talk from you, Cam40. Mrs. Coinboard hereby dubs you "Mr. Multipost."

What would your slabbed coins be worth if the grading services went out of business? What would your coins be worth if the Internet was taken offline for good?
Your right Frank.I posted at a slow time of day(sunrise),and didn`t give much response time before I started belly-aching.
Dog- Thats a cool capped-die .Did anyone notice the reverse image? Its Lincolns` profile enlarged, and upside down in the picture shown.Really neat.
Clankeye-Thanks for the encouragement and all but I,m not sure `Mr.Multipost` fits me. TJ,Shiroh,Braddick,or the like are the true multi-posters.....well ya,ok.In the sense I do tend to post my thoughts in parts rather than a single post.I do, seem to reply ,seemingly to myself huh,AND edit the hell out of my prior posts.....I,m all over the place sometimes.Oh well.Someones gotta be the nut around here.
The thing is...I think I have some company too.
edited...for grins.
