No you have't pissed me off. Like was mentioned I work some odd hours and I'm normally online from 7 - 9 AM each day, 7 - 10 PM Tues - Thurs, Noon - 4PM Sat, and 9AM - 4PM Sun.
The IGS slab is a bit of an enigma. I first saw them in January of 2001. At first there were only a couple, then for about two months they were commonplace then they dried up and I don't see very many of them anymore so the service may be gone now. I don't know where they come from but the slabs are VERY similar to those used by AGS American Grading Service from East Meadow New York (Which is probably another service you have never heard of.). They are a rather large slab, about 1/8 inch wider and 1/4 taller than the current PCGS slabs. They are made of a whitish translucent plastic that seems to only be designed to hold Silver Eagles. All other size coins are kept in place using a white foam insert ring. The labels are well printed and or printed on perferated stock with rather coarse perferations. No hologram.
I do have one piece and I had troubles getting it. For some reason these slabs usually sell for more than I think they are worth or have scarcer dates in them. (Remember I am looking for inexpensive examples just to represent the holder so I tend to avoid the better pieces.) Opinions on the grading standards of the services is something I do not get into. Grading opinins are just that, opinions. The only one I care about is my own and my opinion should carry no more weight to you than anyone elses. the only opinion you should care about is YOUR own. It doesn't matter what the slab or dealer says the coin grades, you have to look at it yourself and decide if it meets your standards. If it doesn't then pass.
i appreciate your taking the time to respond, always enjoy the info you contribute.
i know you don't pass judgment on services, but before i got upside down and read the disclaimer on that slab, i was just curious if the service was in any way serious. once i read, on the slab itself, that they would be in no way responsible for pretty much anything that could possibly be wrong with the coin i just wrote them off.
I agree with zenny, your comments are always helpful. But you missed the MOST important comments on this thread: There are a lot of use that want to shower you with money as soon as you finish a book on slabs and slabbing companies. I am anxiously awaiting your book!

In fact, I'll pre-pay for mine if you'd like some seed money. Seriously.
