Because of flak that I received from a potential seller who got angry because I discussed a sale of his coin (did not mention his name),
I will not delve further into the issue. I'm glad I'm friends with a lawyer in Texas! I might need his help one day (hopefully not).

Having survived a recent bout of madness (well, I have been open about my issues), I have decided to put together a nice little gold type set
with an eye toward nice toned CC morgans if they come along. It'll take time, but that's what collecting is all about. It should be the primary
reason we're here. I've got a little extra money now but don't need to blow it all on one coin (HUH?). I am compulsive, but this group
has been extremely helpful. I hope to be in numismatics for the long haul, make friends, and be more careful with the people I contact regarding
coin purchases.

Of course you know, this can be a good place to come for support, advice, a laugh... just about whatever it is you are looking for. I hope numismatics becomes that sustained interest that you are looking for, and that you find much fulfillment in it.

Type sets are great. I had a blast with the little gold type set I just sold. Might do it again one day.

I must have missed the one about a potential seller who got angry because you discussed a sale of his coin but if he wants to be like that you don't need his coins anyway.
If you were looking at one of my coins you could post it anywhere you wanted too and discuss it all you wanted and I wouldn't care. I'm honest & have nothing to hide.
It's hard to find nice toned CCs. I like DMPLs myself.

Dog, your words are appreciated. Someone here got concerned about my potentially damaging purchase here at the message board and turned me onto a Carson City gold specialist named Doug Winter in Texas. We had a long talk today and I look forward to meeting him at the next Long Beach. He has a nice half-eagle that has my interest-and it is MUCH cheaper than the aforementioned 72-CC $20 with which he was quite familiar.

Yes, Michael. But if it weren't for coins I would not have made some positive new acquaintences nor would I have added some aesthetic beauty
to my life. Your advice is well-heeded and I've accepted much of it. As you said, the final decision is mine and this is a hell of a lot better
than some other things I've done in the past. I know all about compulsive spending and must always be careful. Looks like there's a few people
lookin' out for me here...and you're one of 'em.
