My new M&M Indian Head Cent

Most of us in the mortgage business have been working long days, today I opened this package that had a coin I bought on Ebay. It was in an ANACS holder and I was the only one to bid on it. I thought it looked neat. Neat, my heiney, its gorgeous, booms with coppery luster and the obverse has a pink, yes pink and green rainbow on it. The reverse 1904 has a light coating of pink on it to. I been looking at it for hours, yea verily I am a coin geek. What a nice respite from another long day at work.image

    It's ms63 R/B, that is what is so amazing about the color, you don't often see that on a MS. I took the photos with my coolpix 885. Didn't capture all of the color and the coin is more lustrous than the photo shows.

    Edited: oopsy mistyped the grade, its ms63 R/B

    Extremely jealous here. These are the types of IHs I've taken a personal interest in lately, well preserved but in an unorthodox manner that steered them down the road not taken. Congrats Mike -- you put a lot of work into digging these up, so this was not a lucky purchase.

    Speaking of IH cents there's a few good articles in the Nov.2002 Coins magazine on Flying Eagles,Indian cents, I think it's worth a look see.

    Totaly outrageous coin. I can "kinda" see why 64 with the hit on cheek, but R/B??? I don't think I've ever seen that much red on one coin before! You probably have to wear sunglasses to look at that in person!

    Dimeman, I mistyped its a 63 due to the hit on the cheek. I've seen similar cheek hits get a 64, you are right about the color, I guess they graded it R/B due to the toning, there is no brown on it at all. Same thing the seller on Ebay pondered in his listing.

    Mike, that's an awesome looking coin.
    Buy the coin...but be sure to pay for it.
