Just a warning that site is not secure when you link like that.

It would have let me place a order in your name and didn't ask for a password image

  • Its in a PCGS holder so how can it be anything but a 67...........image I guess I am kinda surprised it is in a 67 holder, but like you said it looks better in person.

Probably an ok 67 even with the high point scuffs on the head, breast, etc. A touch of right obv field abrasion.
But overall probably up to their 67 standard thought it might be on the lower end of the 67 scale. But I wouldn't call it a mistake just based on the scan. The blast of the luster is really the deciding point.

I haven't met many Seated coins I didn't like. That's a very nice one, indeed.

I had an NGC MS62 1884 that was white like that. OK, so it was only a 62, but I liked it. Lotsa bang for the buck.

Coincidentally, the first Seated dime I ever found with my metal detector was an 1884, also. It was VF-ish and very pleasant to look at. I still have it. There's nothing quite like popping a Seated coin out of the ground. It's a wonderful sensation. I accidentally stumbled across an unexpected bonus when I dug that 1884, too- it had gotten buried an inch or two above a much older Indian arrowhead, which came out of the same hole when I dug the coin.

I love finding nice Seated coins, be they in the ground or in a dealer's case.

Not too many ground finds would look like that l'il darlin' you have there, though. image

    Baldy,
It is a nice coin; I hope you enjoy it. It is always difficult to ask members of the forum to give their critical review.
I think that Roadrunners comments sum it up except that Michael might add that it doesn't have that "look" of a truly exceptional coin.

Personally, I'm not much into the white coins in the lofty grades. Roadrunner summed it up well for the coin, but the scuff marks and it's color, or lack of color, would make me pass. That's me though. Now, that quarter you have in another thread, well.....................image

What's the grade, 67? Hmm.. I find the marks on the head distracting and I avoid dipped coins that have retoned. The rev die cracks are cool.
Change that we can believe in is that change which is 90% silver.
