Maybe I need to be clearer. If you want a scan to appear in the body, you MUST have it planted on a web server somewhere. You cannot use that feature for a pic on your computer.
If you want to "attach" a file, look at the bottom when replying or posting. You will see the word "Attachments:" with a white box next to it. Click "Attach file". This will bring up another box. In the upper right of this box, click "browse", than find the file on your local drive. Once you find it, highlight it and click "upload file".
After you do that, the file will appear in the box that is labeled "File listing for [your handle]". Highlight it in that box and click "attach file" at the bottom, toward the right.
I attach my file to the post with the attach file button (must select file, then hit the upload button, then select the file from the list, then hit attach).
Then, I edit my thread and link to where PCGS puts my files on their web server. (i.e. click on attachment button, copy the url of what opens, edit my thread, click picture button, paste url.)
This stuff is really frustrating. If you get one slash or anything wrong it won't work. Yet you can't show the exact nomenclature because that makes the picture show. I wish there was a book on this stuff!!!
It’s the one common skill that so many people can do that I cannot master.

Retired dealer and avid collector of U.S. type coins, 19th century presidential campaign medalets and selected medals. In recent years I have been working on a set of British coins - at least one coin from each king or queen who issued pieces that are collectible. I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?
If the above was an attempt, there are two things you did incorrectly. First, you didn't "close" the tag. The tag at the end requires a "/" right before the "img".
Second is, that's not a complete URL (web address) to the location of the graphic. It needs to be on a publicly accessible site somewhere and contain "http://www.examplesite.com/examplegraphic.jpg".

If you want to link a pic so that it appears in the body, you use the url of image tags without the space I just put in the brackets.
