May have got the boss hooked!

Well the other day I broke one of my golden rules. I never tell anyone about my collection for security reasons. On Thursday my boss started talking about how he likes to go metal detecting and all the coins he has found over the years, including a Pine Tree Schilling. I am trying to get him to get that one authenticated.
On Friday I brought in four certified coins for him to look at. Boy was he impressed at the beauty of these pieces. I also brought him some books to read.
During the course of the conversation, he told me that he would really like to own a St. Gaudens. Well, I said that I could probably help. We are now in the process of trying to find him a nice PCGS certified piece in MS63. Have I created a monster!

It's a small company so everybody knows everybody.
Was searching old threads and fund this thread that I started 18 years ago.
Boss(not mine anymore, he's moved on) is still hooked. We are still friends and still go to shows. Last one,was in February. Hopefully we'll go someday soon.
Thanks for the update---glad it was not just a fad for him
A zombie thread worthy of resurrection! Unlike those lame Glicker revivals we used to get subjected to sometime back.

Be careful getting the boss hooked, especially if he is the owner.
He might spend your raise on coins.
He doesn't work where we worked together anymore but I do. True about the raise but we're union!
Miss Russ greatly.
I love teaching my co-workers, or my boss, about the hobby! Only problem is when I get started It's hard to stop. LoL.
"Jesus died for you and for me, Thank you,Jesus"!!!
--- If it should happen I die and leave this world and you want to remember me. Please only remember my opening Sig Line. Also teaching others is a great way to get first shot at buying some collections
We have a saying in the Air Force, more than likely all services; "We Are All Recruiters". Whenever someone brings a little enlightenment to someone else's life, it can be nothing short of a good thing. Congratulations for sharing your interest with another!

That’s pretty neat you talk to your boss.
I like to hear fun story's !!!
The end of your post should have a question mark, then after that, YES!

I do not have a boss anymore... and before I retired, I was the boss...
Where I work now (freelance with compensation), I saw the lady at the counter filling the register and was putting in a roll of quarters... asked if it was a new roll - yes - said "Can I look at them?"... She said sure, why?... I told her about the W quarters... now she searches all the rolls and change coming in...
Keeps asking me about other coins and (before the shutdown) bought a Redbook....Cheers, RickO
Way to go, Ricko!
We need 'em all!

Wow. That MS 63 Saint (even generic date) was over $1200 less , when this thread started.
Your (ex) boss did okay.
On a side note : God rest ye , Russ.
