gem sesqui. original white!!! lightly toned....wild!! wild!! wild!!

ngc ms65 sesqui and a gem in any holder! this coin is amazing in terms of eye appeal for a sesqui.

FULLY ORIGINAL UNDIPPED SATINY WHITE SURFACES WITH A MEDIUM GOLDEN TONING TO THE RIMS AND AN OVERALL LIGHT GOLDEN/LILAC TONING BLANKETING BOTH SIDES. and NOT the golden secondary toning usually seen on dipped/overdipped seated mintstatre silver coins!!!!!!!!!! the lustre underneath the toning is monster for a sesqui in fact overall the eye appeal is monster FOR A SESQUI!

this coin absolutely positively needs to be sight seen and the scan does not show the true colors so to speak

the liberty bell is like almost fully struck 95% with all the words on the bell visible!!!!!!!!!! simply incredible usual pockmarked cheek caused by the die in the striking........... but............................... oh what a sesqui!!!!!!!!!!!!!

this coin is a solid for the grade 65 coin but the eye appeal is 66!

the ultimate in rarity for a sesqui

currently this coin is in an eastern collection and has been examined by myself and the above is my opinion.

thanks dave! these sesquis are coins that are undervalued and in gem are coins not usually seen let alone with such eye appeal

Wow, very nice! And very out of my price range, I'm sure. I've been looking for one, but so far what I have been seeing doesn't appeal to me yet.
  • A sesqui like that is a thing of beauty, Michael. They are really far tougher to find nice than a lot of people realize. They remind me of Monroes in a way. Tons of marginal ones around, but when you find that special one, they can knock your socks off. Thanks for the post and the pics.

  • These were made in such low relief and are usually a very unimpressive looking coin. To find a nice sharp example that hasn't been mis-handled or that doesn't look flat and washed out can take some doing.

I was lucky to find one with a nice concave planchet sharp strike overlaid with light gold and oozing underlying luster. It is one of my favorite commemoratives that I own.
I happened to buy this from a local old time collector who was the original owner.

Thanks for sharing this one Michael.

A thing of beauty is a joy for ever
