The "this" coin is not even close to EF-40. It barely makes VF-20.
The second is a groundling and for $5 + $2.50 it would be fine for a young numismatist.
Retired dealer and avid collector of U.S. type coins, 19th century presidential campaign medalets and selected medals. I concur with Bill. The 1821 is VF at best. And the 1827 is just a cheap Bust dime. There are some real jokes out on ebay.
One guy was selling 20 Mercury Dimes 1935-1943 in g to vg for ONLY $25. Thats over a dollar a coin for coins that are worth silver.
There are some nice coins out there, but it is too much work to find them.
