Think of the death and slaughter of those poor 1964 proof sets. There must be corpses around your feet.image

Nice job on those. I gotta admit it's a thrill to find a set with an AH half in it.

BTW, Line #1 is this coin:

But for a tiny hairline on his jaw, and a couple minor shield dings, it would have made 68.

What do you do with all those mutilated sets you've taken the Kennedy from? And we need a pic of that PR64 when you get it back.

Very nice, what were you expecting the PR64 to be?

    Steve,

I have PR68 in my notes on that one. I must have missed some nasty hairlining somewhere. I'll check it when it gets back. It was a "ringer" coin anyway. It has a light cameo contrast, but not enough to make the designation, so I included it as a comparison piece to help encourage the CAM designation for lines 1 and 2.image

    Russ,
Maybe it's not PCGS but you're just getting better at this! I really like your idea of including a borderline coin to push the others over. Nice strategy.

    Russ,

That's what I thought, but I also thought that there was a possibility that they might have missed the AH designation. (I have an AH in a PCGS slab without the designation, thankfully I wasn't the submitter.)

    Steve,

That actually happened to me once. Submission result posted and they forgot the designation on an AH. I called them and they caught it before it shipped, and corrected it.

Nice AH. The PR67 Cam is tough. Whoever makes the first 66+ AH Dcam has to buy the beer.image

What service level? Modern or Economy?

Just curious since I have a couple of invoices in there that arrived a few days later. image

    Greg,

This was economy. Had another economy that arrived on the same day that posted last Friday (20th). They seem to be pretty quick right now.

Cool! Should only be a few more days for me. I've got some nice Lincolns in there. image
  • Russ,

That AH PR67CA is absolutely gorgeous. I got a numiswoody!

So Russ, what do you do with the other coins in the 64 sets you slice'n'dice? If you have any "extras" that are cameo'd I might be interested, especially in the Jeffersons.
  • RussRuss Posts: 48,514 ✭✭✭
    Robert,

I put them in plastic tubes and sell them on eBay. I did pull four Roosies once because they reached out, grabbed me and said "WE ARE WOW COINS!" and sent them in for grading, but other than that whatever cameos (and, there have actually been quite a few) there are end up being a pleasant surprise for whomever buys the rolls. I really don't have the desire to pay much attention to any of the coins besides the Kennedys.
