Whats going on here ?

Not a single Merc Thread anywhere !! Slow Season... Lost Interest....Hiding Up-dates....Too many Lincoln Cent Threads.....Same Same for Type Coin Threads....On Vacation.....In trouble with the Wife again.....Kids raising Hell with You....Dog or Cat Ignoring You....Broken Hands and cannot Type...Camera Broke so We cannot see some Beautiful Mercs... Have I missed anything ?

Maybe You forgot your 27th Wedding Anniversary like I did Friday. Karen just shook her head in amazement again. Once a Klutz always a Klutz, boy am I glad she is a very understanding Wife and Mother.

Whats Going on here ?

Ken

PS: To keep this Coin related I did buy 2 AU58 PCGS Slabbed Mercs last week. Curious mind must see what they look like when they arrive.image

The truth is I was at Central states in OHIO on friday, then a two day show in PA. Not a good mercury dime in a PCGS slab to be had. Only common stuf and not good looking.

On the Other hand I'm going Fishing at the beach in Delaware only a 6 or 7 hour drive and staying for about 4 or 5 days
Fishing , Fishing and more fishing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!imageimage

I mentioned you folks might be holding out on Up-Grades. Well I must confess I held out on this Down-Grade to the Set. Plugged this Original 65FB Coin in for the Conserved/Dipped or what ever you want to call the 66FB Coin that was in there. image Also Plugged in a Couple of Toned pieces that are My favorites that resulted in Down-Grades. image Geez..and these Non-Registry people call Us Number Chasers. Never have figured that out completely. image

Hey... Thanks for the Replys. I really thought I was left to My lonesome to Spread the Beauty of Adolph's Little Ladies. image Almost was ready to join the Type Guys or the Moderns.... What Morbid thoughts these were. image

  • You got a new puppy, too, Walt? Cool! image

Ken, that's a nice looking 41. The toning is a little too dark for me, but she is real pretty none the less. image

Since this one is a replacement for an existing one, what are you doing with the original? Duchess says that would make a real nice "Welcome to the family" present. image

    To answer your questions:

    1. Slow season? Yes, pickings have been slim lately. image
    2. Lost interest? No way! Probably never will. image
    3. Hiding updates? No, I have one out there; it's just not a very exciting one. Wait till next week, though...... image
    4. Too many Lincoln threads? Yes, but I don't mind, as long as we can get an occasional Merc thread in here.
    5. Type coins threads? Ditto
    6. On vacation? I wish!! Friday was the end of our fiscal month. Stupid me, I volunteered to work on the Sunday after month-end. It makes work easier for my co-workers and me tomorrow, but it's also year-end, so the coming week will be a long one. image
    7. Wife trouble? Nope image
    8. Kid trouble? Nope again
    9. Dog or (god forbid) a cat? N/A
    10. Broken hand? No, but I still can't type worth a darn.
    11. Broken camera? No, just giving it a rest. There should be a new Merc next week. image

Ken, I noticed your "downgrades". You don't have to be told to "buy the coin, not the holder". I'd much rather have an eye-appealing and high-end 65 than a just-made-it 66.

It's ironic that you remember dates on coins, but forgot your anniversary. Congrats on another year, and a gem of a wife.

    Jim

Countdown to completion of my Mercury Set: 1 coin. My growing Lincoln Set: Finally completed!
  • I'm bidding on a 35-D on Ebay and a 24 on Heritage Bullet Auction (both FB of course) that I hope to win, Keeping my fingers crossedimage It's just getting harder to find the dates that I need in a grade that I can afford here lately.

In-laws have been out visiting, so haven't had the 'puter time.
Plus, I just overspent myself on finally acquiring '32D&S Washingtons (not to mention the '42S ex-Walser from Tonelover!) image
    I do have a '45D 67FB and '38 66FB on the way.
    The '38 MS66FB was a heart-pounding snipe!
Was goin' for a 13 second snipe. I hit the bid tab, and I get a page sayin' that the site is unavailable due to maintenance. I hit the back tab on the brouser and try again. This time it works, and I I get the bid confirmation page. I hit the "confirm bid" tab, and again I get the "down for maintenance" page. I hit the back tab, and try again. After what seemed like forever, I got the "blue congratulation" page! Turns-out to be a 2-second-snipe! "Lucky 13"!!! And a "Rosey" '38! imageimage

    Ken,
    Nice lookin' '41! image
You are too funny! 'memberin' all the Merc dates, but forgettin' your anniversary! image
My Karen won't let me forget our next. It will be our 25th! image

    Labmom,
Congrats on the new K9 addition! image
I see that you dropped the "2" in your sig. Hey, after three there's always room for one more! image
We're @ 5 and I've been lookin' for #6 (a mate for my male rotador) lately!

Looks like everyone has been busy and stayed out of trouble except myself. I see a couple of Type Guys replied and they should remember that a few of the Merc People also collect type coins. In fact I won a coin on Ebay that Cameron had bid on also. Not quite sure if he forgot about the Half Dime or if I bid to much for the Coin. It will be here this week hopefully.

    Don:

Number 25 was easy to remember for some reason but the previous 24 and the years after have been Hell to remember.

Beth: ( Princess of The South)

Hey thats Cool !! The 41P will stay with me for awhile. Its Toned also but not like the New one. Hoarder at heart I guess.

    Dennis:

All Work and No Play will make you Old and Gray like Yours Truly. image

    To All:

Good hearing from You. Maybe going into Fall now more discussions will pop up. Speaking of Fall it was 85 and just a Beautiful Day here today. Nothing like a Brisk Fall morning to Bring the Spirts back up.

    Take Care: Ken
