Typical grade of most modern proof sets?

Wondering what the typical grade is out of most modern proof sets. I notice QUITE A LOT of Proof 69 DCAMS out there. Is that *most* because people really are that able to tell the difference between a PR68 and a PR69 (by eye), or is it that a very large number of the coins in modern sets really are that good?

Philately will get you nowhere....

  • Most modern proof sets, if you can't see any disturbances, either on the field or on the devices are going to grade out at PR69. A minor ding somewhere gets you PR68. A stopyourheartIcecreamfrostknockyoursocksoffandhowlatthemoon coin will get you a PR70. image

bizarre opinoin: i'm not a big fan of the cameo stuff anyhow. looks too artificial to me. i like the matte-proof finishes of the early 20th century coins.

I won A stopyourheartIcecreamfrostknockyoursocksoffandhowlatthemoon coin on eBay. But, it turned out to be only a knockyoursocksoffandhowlatthemoon coin... so I neg'ed the bum.

    Isica,

The majority range PR68 to PR69 and Cam to Dcam. If you see any distraction at all, PR68 or lower.
