I Finally found a Flyer I was after. Got it today. Pic added to my set.

I finally found a PCGS AU55 1858LL. I paid nearly MS money for it but figured it was easier to pay that then to try and "make" one.

Surprisingly (as BigD and I discussed briefly) EF and AU are pretty hard to come by in PCGS holders even though they are 1-200.00 coins!

Congrats, goose3! Where did you find it and how?

New collectors, please educate yourself before spending money on coins; there are people who believe that using numismatic knowledge to rip the naïve is what this hobby is all about.

I got it on sleazebay of all places from a dealer that I used to buy from occasionally.

I made him an offer and he took it!

I'll add the pic to the registry when she arrives.

It's a nice color, just like my SL version.

    Pushkin,
I missed out not too long ago on a Snow3 '56 in PCGS XF45!!! I was a day late on that one or mine would have been for sale!

I remember seeing your want ad when I joined in January. I am glad you finally found it. I have looked around for it a few times myself and never did see one. Congrats. Mark

Puskin, your quote from Andrew Jackson is an eerie reminder of what is taking place today.

Congrats on the 58LL and the last piece of the puzzle Goose! Guess I won't be looking for one at Long Beach after all. As mentioned, you don't realize how tough it is to find nice AU FEs until you start looking for them. Especially ones that fit your standards. Those are some remarkably clean circulated examples you've uncovered -- I always love looking at that 1856.
  • Great coin John. Really glad you were able to get it.

Goose - I really love them all, but the color of the 1858/7 is OUTSTANDING! I want it!

Good job! Too bad the F.E. series didn't continue for 30 or 40 years. F.E.'s are just flat lovely.
