Okay, two cent people, did I do okay on this one?

1864 two cent piece. Or, did I get screwed?

I needed to replace the one that got stolen in the burglary last month. This one looked pretty good, and the seller seems reputable. Besides, it looks much better then the ones ShotAtHome was selling last night for the same price.image

    Russ,
It looks good to me. It has nice color and strike.

Very nice XF. I don't know what the sheets say it should sell for but it's a pretty coin.

New collectors, please educate yourself before spending money on coins; there are people who believe that using numismatic knowledge to rip the naïve is what this hobby is all about.

I was just looking at the set registry for these and there doesn't seem to be very many people who like them. Only five sets registered. That seems surprising to me as I think they're very cool coins.

  • thats one nice 2 cent. Your right, not many people like the odd denomnations, but then again not everyone who has a nice set goes in for the registry nonsense. Maybe if one of those 67 RD's in my sig come up and I can get it, I just might put all mine in for an ego boost.image

A solid 2 cent piece. Looks choice. Good job.

  • Nice coin. It looks to have slightly more detail and a much nicer color than this one (obverse, reverse) of mine.image The only things I might worry about are the strange appearance of the obverse rims from 10 to 2 (possibly/probably a cud?) and the weaknesses to the left of the denom. and wreath. Both rverse spots just look odd and kind of "smeared", but could just be minor striking problem of some sort or photo issue. Overall--nice. Maybe I need another one of these.image

  • That sure is chocolate color -- and how! Be careful not to eat it, Russ.

Looks like a very nice piece.
