<< <i>You want Morgan Dollars in MS65? How many thousands would you like? NGC has graded 183,000 of them in 65. If they were all piled up in one place, their weight would affect the rotation of the earth causing tidal wives, earth quakes and widespread pandelerium. >>

what, 183 k silver dollars, at about 18.3 per pound, that's 5 tons of coins. That's going to cause tidal wives and earth quakes? image

It is what most people erroneously call a tsunami.

  • No. "Tidal Wives" are the kind that come and go. They have been known to cause small earthquakes, but only until the alimony is settled.

  • What's worse? Pandelerium or pandemonium? image
  • Hey, I had one of those! And come to think of it, the pandelerium indeed came with it! image

  • "Pandelerium" is a high state of arousal experienced by Panda Bears after ingesting too many eucalyptus leaves.

  • Bear: I think that's your cue.

I think pandelerium is related to "mass-teria" (from "The Music Man," for those who remember).

Guys, I think you are missing the point:

If you pile up 5 tons slabbed morgans, will some of the slabs crack? Will NGC reholder these for free?

Perhaps tidal wives are those wives most affected by lunar cycles; these would tend toward lunacy, usually on a monthly frequency.

Bear: Why is it little plastic containers of honey are shaped like bears? Shouldn't they be shaped like bees or beehives? We don't get honey from bears.

Braddick - The answer to your question is that we bears are sweet creatures.....At least most of the time.
And another thing, we are very cute and lovable creatures. Why do you think they modeled the
Teddy Bear after us? How many kids would like to go to sleep with a stuffed bumble bee? the little bear

tsunami: A gigantic wall of water (wave) that is caused by an earthquake, an underwater landslide, a volcanic eruption or explosion, large falling ice from arctic icebergs, or large falling objects from space (meteorites). A tsunami can travel at speeds up to 500 mph. and travel 1000s of miles before reaching land. A tsunami can devastate towns or cities in a matter of seconds depending on their size.

tiramisu: A rich desert of Italian (and later French) origin generally made from cheese, raw eggs, cream, cocoa, liquor, coffee, sugar, and ladyfingers.

Buy the coin...but be sure to pay for it.

Well, I just estimated that you could stack about 2000 (raw) silver dollars per cubic foot of volume, so those 5 tons of morgans could fit into 3 cubic yards, if you cracked them out of their slabs.

Maybe rich people sometimes call up their landscaper, and say "I'd like the south driveway spread with ms65 morgans; I think 3 yards will be about right..."

Another interesting perspective is what I learned in geology (and later repeated on a show about gold on the history channel). That if you put all the gold together that has ever been mined in the world, you would have a cube measuring 30 yards x 30 yards x 30 yards. It's because it is so dense and often diluted in usage. Also, most things use only a few microns of gold and it gets searched out and reused often. But when you put it all together, it sure makes you appreciate how rare it really is!

Can You imagin trying to lift 30 cubic yards of gold?

Lifting 30 cubic yards of gold has to be easier than lifting 27,000 cubic yards of gold...bears and snakes are bad at math!

I don't remember for sure but I think that the equivalent world supply of platinum would make a cube 10 feet by 10 feet by 10 feet...goes to show what a bargain platinum is compared to gold.

Let's get the math strait, a cube 30 yards on each side would be 27,000 cubic yards.

A tiramisu can also devastate towns or cities in a matter of seconds, depending on their size.
