  • Can't really tell from the picture - it's too small - not enough detail.

I agree, too small. But probably MS-63 to MS-65 depending.

scan looks ok.I,ll guess 63-64 range.
I recently bought one,`85, in about this same condition.I,m calling mine a 64image
    It was $20 raw.

ok,alittle bashing then.I think the luster is impaired so its a 63 at best.and the reverse toneing is neutral so it has no affect on overall grade.........image Hows that. image

    Just a side note....

I also have an 1884 CC that is at least 3 times as good lookin' as this one image
    I'll put it up another day. I think it's like 67 or - well - it's mine so I think it's probably a 70+ :-)
Gotta find that old scan or make a new one...

Thanks for the opinions on this one so far.

  • At least an MS-63, maybe even MS-65 but I would need to see it close up.

  • Looks like either a 63 or a nice AU58. Can't tell without seeing the luster.

Funny - the longer you look at it - the lower it grades...

How long does PCGS keep coins?

  • Looks like a solid MS64 to me. Bit of a flat strike. $25-$35 coin.

    MS62 to MS63.

    (after second look)

    No, too harsh.

    63+, definitely.

  • I agree with the gang Mike - looks to be a 63/64 depending on what it looks like up close.

    No more mystery...

The scan doesn't do this coin justice - it's probably a high 63 or low 64 - i know people say that you take off a point or two if it's your own coin but I am an eternal pessimist when it comes to my coins...other's coins, too.

I paid $13.87 on e-bay - the guy sent it to me in just a paper envelope :-)

It is a very nice specimen - there is a small mark under the eye and another over the eagle on the reverse - other than that - it has zero wear and lots of luster.

Thanks for all of your input! Hope you enjoyed this little game :-)
