Amusing but highly opinionated. I suppose all of the design issues are. What I generally hate is when a design is chosen by a state and the Mint slaughters it. If the design is based on a contest, then the contestants and the final selection should be honored. The Mint simply needs to suck up to making quality coins, even if the design is difficult to mint. Hells bells, how much seigniorage is on a quarter? 19 cents? So what if it was 18 cents and the designs were retained?
The Mint - our government institution at work of us! What a joke.

I couldn't agree more. Clearly the Mint just needs to leave all design decisions to the experts of this forum. I'm sure Russ, Dorkkarl and the others can reach quick agreement.
