ms69 buffalo, he says maybe ms70

the one and only ms69 buffalo

high bid right now is 76 bucks

this fellow won't submit what he claims to be a ms69 buffalo to pcgs because he hates "the expense and wait involved."

(of course he also suggests one might receive the "allusive (sic) ms70" if they were to submit.)

haha

i mean, come on folks, let's get on this....

  • MS-66. You can buy one slabbed by PCGS for under $50.00 off ebay.

Yeah, I hate to spend $13 and wait to get the coin back only to have it worth thousands times more. Just not worth it.

one of the most common classic coins of all time, i remember finding low grade unc's and AU coins in 1964 when i first started to collect. i still have about half a dozen. there's thousands of 'em graded MS66 which is what this coin most likely would be-----it's hard to judge from the scan. logic dictates that if a slabbed example would fetch a few thousand dollars in MS68 and this coin is supposedly an MS69 with a shot at 70, that either the seller knows he's lying or else he is extremely stupid. my money is on the former. it's already overbid at a 66 and to risky at anything above that.image

sniped at t minus three seconds for the almost unbelievable bargain price of 104.49 including insured shipping.

a once in a lifetime chance and i just let it go.

oh well, i'll just have to wait until the new owner gets it slabbed and puts it back up.

For all practical purposes, the grading of Buffalo Nickels stops at MS-67. MS68? MS69?? MS70???. Not a chance! Just goes to show how gullible the buyers of raw coins on eBay can be.

I didn't know a coin witha huge cut on the Buffalo's back could grade MS-70. These people never fail to amaze me.

Look at the scan again. I don't believe it will grade 65. That looks like a pretty good gash to the left of his chin. Not an expert on Buffalo's so I'm not really sure.

The coin is also in a late/weak die state as the fields are getting to look like "orange peel" in the fields.
