When was the last time you used eBay's BIN feature?

Periodically, I used to find some decent buy-it-now prices on eBay. For instance, I purchased an MS64FBL franklin for $20 via BIN. But lately the BIN prices all seem to be ridiculously high. I would have expected just the opposite since eBay now charges a premium for the service. What has your experience been?

One was an 1840-O large O with Drapery Seated Quarter in fine for $16.
Love to see the BIN just for this reason. People sell stuff without without having the foggiest idea of what they're selling.

I saw that one a couple nights ago and thought it was impressive looking then, still do. Have you received it yet? Does it look as good in person as it does on the scan?

As a buyer I have used it only a couple of times. Most of the time the BIN is retail or higher.
Now having siad that, I use to BIN myself but I agree with many of the thread comments before where BIN prices are absurd many times. BIN is great when its at market not 100-300% or more above market! IMHO......
If I had it my way, stupidity would be painful!
For coins, the price has to be right. I've used is a lot in the distant past, very little lately.
As a seller, I've not used the new BIN feature to stop the first bid from killing BIN.

What would your slabbed coins be worth if the grading services went out of business? What would your coins be worth if the Internet was taken offline for good?

<< <i>As a seller I stopped using it when they started charging for it. No use paying 5¢ to use BIN when the first bid of 1¢ will deactivate it. As a buyer I have used it only a couple of times. Most of the time the BIN is retail or higher. >>
Greg- it doesn't have to go down that way. For example, let's say you've got a $100.00 retail coin. Your BIN is $85.00. Instead of setting a starting price of .01 with No Reserve, keep the No Reserve status but have your start price set higher (maybe $35.00 in the above example).
That way if someone is serious about the coin they've got time to pull the trigger.

<< <i>2 nights ago. BIN'd a piece for $195 that DL is selling for $355. I probably still overpaid >>
Not if it was toned.
