As someone closely following AI developments in our world, I thought the community would enjoy this writeup.
AI showed up everywhere in coins this year including government mints, third-party graders, dealers, patents, and even a circulation coin.
Check out these 19 developments so far in 2026. Accuracy % figures are each company's own claims, not mine.
Tap a name for the source if one catches your eye.

Does NA fit? (Numismatics anonymous)
Numismatics Anonymous has been around since eBay started accepting credit cards.
This one 'sounds' like it could be involved in that ebay authenticity check.

Is anyone else suspecting that AI is being used in some major coin auctions lot descriptions?
Not entirely of course, but it seems to me some of the ‘filler’ verbiage is more ‘fuzzy’ than usual.
30+ years coin shop experience (ret.) Coins, bullion, currency, scrap & interesting folks. Loved every minute!
Vardera is in talks with eBay about a potential partnership. That's what their founders have said on LinkedIn videos they've posted.
eBay has given sellers the ability to generate listing descriptions with AI for a while. It'd be trivially easy for auction companies to set up something similar.
