PCGS Packaging. No box!

CoinscratchCoinscratch Posts: 11,235 ✭✭✭✭✭

Is this a new type of packaging?
Typically, on small orders, I would still get a box.
The 1797 got body bagged.

Thank you for sharing. How would you describe the packaging?

Two holders per sleeve? Thanks for the picture! My sense is that it is not worth shipping a box for less that a couple( 4-6?) of holders.

Yeah, I wasn't impressed. FedEx recycled envelope with no padding. Not much protection for a 6K coin.

It’s not bad I don’t hate it. A felt like material on the inside holds the slab snug.

    One holder per sleeve.

Or at least that’s how mine was packed. It looks like you could turn them upside and put two in one.

Mine was one slab with paperwork.

I had an order with 4 coins. 2 coins per black "box" as above tossed into a plastic envelope with no padding. Not exactly what you expect with $5k+ worth of coins.
Curious to see how my 7 coin order will be shipped next month.

My CACG order came in a cardboard box as well, with a cardboard insert to separate the slabs.
And I thought that was kind of cheesy but I was used to armored plastic boxes & glamour shots.

I think I saw an announcement in a previous newsletter about this new packaging. Along with a list of other topics.

Perhaps PCGS is focusing on their carbon and climate related ESG disclosures by eliminating the plastic slab box?
