8tf coins, how would you grade? Is the cac "calculated value" realistic?

Yes the CAC value is realistic if not the standard for CAC and based on the CAC CPG (CDN and is higher than non CAC CPG. This is based on what the coins are trading for in the market place.

I have no trouble retailing material at CPG.

I would say they are all graded MS63. The first one and last one possibly 62 however. Every one of them has considerable hits on cheek obv. A couple may be PQ for 63. However none are 64 imo unless one or so snuck by. The CACG 64 Morgan dollars I have, are nicer than those. The last one w x mark on cheek may have snuck by to get 64. However it is not of the quality I expect for a 64.g

I find the CAC price guide runs a bit high.

In recent years I have been working on a set of British coins - at least one coin from each king or queen who issued pieces that are collectible. I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?

the cool thing is that he left the cert number so you can look up what the grades are.
    My honest guesses were:
    60, 62, 64, 61.

The actual results were three MS61 results and one MS62 result.

These all were sold well under the cac retail pricing on ebay. I fortunately bought them at auction with some other somewhat better dates that graded ok.

Why is the third one MS61? It is pretty clearly better than the others, and supported by every guess here.

That’s a good question. Perhaps the coin has issues that aren’t apparent in the images. But all of the 61 grades were very surprising to me.

They all looked like no problem uncs. to me. I did not consider a crack out and submission to another service, though maybe I should have. There is a significant spread to MS63 and 64. I imagine a number of submitters give up if they get a straight grade at cacg figuring they got it right for their "conservative" grading operation.
