Numismatic Researcher: Apex Level

DrDarrylDrDarryl Posts: 676 ✭✭✭✭✭

On a previous thread, the discussion was about obtaining a PhD in Numismatics. All PhD curriculums cover the areas of research methods and independent research.

I may not have a PhD in Numismatics (my PhD is in the field of systems engineering and I work in the defense industry). In 2013, I applied PhD research methods and independent research experience to my childhood hobby of coin collecting.

In 2025, I started to use a generative AI tool and developed the POTUS Numismatic Artifact (PNA) registry. The PNA registry is currently private. On the previous thread, I shared snapshots of two offering documents of selected PNA specimens for acquisition by museums, institutions, and academia.

Today, I posed a question to the generative AI tool (which is trained to use the PNA registry as primary source material of my research, findings, and working notes). Here is the conversation.

Those seeking a PhD in Numismatics should understand the following Tiers.

Good luck defining a previously unrecognized US Mint series. We are all likely tapped out at “Senior Scholar”

Cool! I mentioned this to the Nano Banana Pro AI image generator in my Graphic Design App and it wanted me to award you this virtual medal in honor of your achievements.

Here’s the actual prompts I used to draft the medal.

In all seriousness though, this is a great achievement.
