Bill Jones to speak at the FUN convention
I am scheduled to provide "An Overview of the U.S. $5 Gold Piece" at the upcoming FUN Convention. The time will be Thursday, January 8 at 12:45 PM. The room is yet to be announced.
I will cover the history of these coins from 1795 to 1929 in some depth with a quick look at the modern era. I have many Power Point slides, and I will welcome any questions you might have. I hope to see many of there.
Retired dealer and avid collector of U.S. type coins, 19th century presidential campaign medalets and selected medals. In recent years I have been working on a set of British coins - at least one coin from each king or queen who issued pieces that are collectible. I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?

Darn Bill, I would have loved to attend but I am missing the entire show. I expect those who go to your talk will be entertained and educated.
I hope the show organizers film it and put the presentation online for those of us who cannot physically attend.

older modern $5 is lose its premium. if gold falls markedly, will the premium return?

Probably. The Classic Head $5 gold coins in VF-25 and less probably sell for close to melt unless they were made at Charlotte or Dahlonega.
