What’s on your Orlando FUN Show want list?

So I’m trying to wrap up my collecting days and have been working on which coins will finish me up. So these are a few I will be actively looking for in Orlando in a few weeks. What is on your list? 🤔😉

  1. 1907 $St. Gaudens high relief…hopefully a nice MS63.
  2. 1916 SLH quarter…preferably a full head…XF45 or better.
  3. 1889CC Morgan….VF35 or better.
  4. 1893CC Morgan …AU53 or better.
  5. 1901S Barber 25$¢…VG8 or better.
  6. Any nice problem free proof Morgan…

Hopefully I can score at least one or two of these coins…. Merry Christmas everyone!

I'd like a 1793 Chain AMERI. cent, but that is not going to happen.

In recent years I have been working on a set of British coins - at least one coin from each king or queen who issued pieces that are collectible. I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?

Fortunately/unfortunately, I pre-spent my Orlando big coin budget in Baltimore. So maybe a couple of small pieces if anything interesting comes up but no more big coins for now.

Nothing interests me in the FUN show Auctions, anyway. I won’t be attending, in person, so I don’t know what will be on the floor. I’m really looking forward to the reports and the YouTube videos. There are some digital creators that I like to follow. I’m saving up for the summer ANA. Hopefully, you’ll be ready to buy by then, too. ;) Good Luck, in whatever you decide. 🍀

I am kind of hoping someone will offer some good opportunities here! The shows are pretty overwhelming in my opinion, but getting steered in the right direction towards possible purchases is always a possibility! Cheers everyone!

That’s true. If someone here has what you’re looking for it could be beneficial for you. Best of luck!

This is never a good strategy. It understand a must have coin coming along at Baltimore, but walking into January FUN with essentially empty pockets is what I would call reckless. That is the ultimate show where you never know what is gonna be available, and you better be ready or else the guy behind you is gonna buy it.

Sell a few rolls of silver eagles or something to raise cash. Metals are high, take advantage of it.

No long traffic jams getting there, no diarrhea while walking to the convention center, and no dead car battery when I leave. Everything else is gravy...Oops!

In case you're curious, I bought a $40k territorial gold coin at Baltimore; another example of similar quality is coming up in the James Stack auction which will likely go for $50-60k. So, depending on auction results, I may have saved myself quite a bit of money.

Also, my primary reasons for going to FUN are to hang out with friends and lot view.

Want lists and "What I actually buy" lists tend to look nothing like each other, but I'm going to see if I can come up with:

1909 Liberty nickel with obverse design hub doubling
1937-D Buffalo same die pair as the 3-leg, but before it was a 3-leg.

I never go to a show with the intention of buying anything so I’m never disappointed. In the last ten years I think I’ve bought maybe two or three coins at a show. I think in general you’ll have more success finding that right coin working with dealers or in an auction.

I'm looking for a nice MS-66 Wells Fargo 1908 No Motto Saint. But if I don't find a nice one, I'll look at other years or maybe even just wait. The price has been rising between renewed interest in the hoard and also gold rising which hasn't helped my tight budget. :/

Could always buy a nice Large Denomination Small Size Currency bill if I pass on the Saint. If I have any $$$ leftover, then some small niche stuff that is under $300 like 5-ounce silver patterns or maybe a DMPL Morgan or the like.

    …..

I tend to stick pretty close to my ‘want’ list….especially since I accumulated so much extraneous stuff over the years. Now it looks like some of the current gold/silver coins I’ve purchased over the last few years are finally well in the black so selling/trading them and getting my ‘want list’ coins is an bit easier. Just hope the spot prices stay high for a bit longer so I have more purchasing power. 😉

Would be nice to find a decent ‘93 Cap cent that I both like and can afford

    Bill
I just saw one PCGS graded on Eye Appealing Coins website along with two other Chain cents all PCGS straight graded.
    Hope this helps!
