Dec. 2025 PCGS Las Vegas show

Didn't see any threads on the pcgs show so thought I would throw up a few things.

First this show continued in the 'new' pcgs show format that was introduced at the Irvine show. This is, the show allowed public in for $10 charge, pcgs members free, early bird badges available for $100, table rates were increased, Stacks was associated with the show and has an auction 'associated' with it (the following week Dec 22, 23 as is typical these days), food was there but free to table dealers. This show was a little larger but this presented an issue which was that some (I counted 7) dealers were located across the hall in an 'overflow' room. I guess this might be the place to state that I heard the plan was to increase the size of this show in the future (maybe 50 dealers) and that it would move to the MGM Grand when in L.V. I did ask someone at pcgs but only got a 'that is what I have heard answer' so no confirmation of.

The Tuesday dealer day and the first public day (Wednesday) appeared very busy with dealer to dealer business happening throughout the day and many tables occupied. The public on Wednesday appeared lighter (no numbers) than the past two years for the Dec. L.V. show but still some attendance. The line for pcgs submissions varied a lot on these days, from none to an hour later having several waiting. From what I heard grading was 'tough' especially early on. However, later (Friday) was hearing of some limited success. Now on Thursday it was a large change to a slow show to very slow. The non-table dealer had mostly left and some table dealers gone and public light. Some were saying Thursday was like a late Friday. But on Friday by noon I would estimate 75% of the dealers were gone. Strangely in the overflow room 6 of the 7 dealers were still there then.

Talking to JD he completed his final review of his new silver book and it is in the process of being printed. Don't recall the exact pages but 600 plus pages for one volume and upper 500 pages for the second volume. Good to hear that he finally got it done. :) I was talking at one table and don't recall how the subject came up but a PCGS holder was submitted for a re-holder. They were contacted and given a photo (which I briefly saw) of the coin in a flip with the label and the two pieces of the coin. It was stated that during/after the crackout at pcgs for the re-holder that the coin came apart. From the quick view it looked like a magicians coin (machined surface on one...). I am guessing someone made a 'better' date by combining a reverse mint mark (or not one) with a better obverse date. Don't know any other details but it is under the pcgs guarantee. Just thought it was interesting to hear.

I did come home with one new one. Wasn't looking for it and had one in the mini-type set. Only a small upgrade but it was the look of the coin that sold it. I guess I need to turn loose of the old one. :):/
I am not a photographer, not even an amateur one just my 20+ year old snap-o'matic. But gave it a shot and did capture some of the color but there is more in hand. :)

If interested here are the table dealers (abbreviated) I noted (may have missed one or two) but as stated above there were as many non-table dealers there.
Tangible, JMS, Angle Dees, Mike'sCoinChest, DLRC, Northern Nevada, Heritage (buyer), Stacks, GC, West Coast, Original US, Alhambra, John Gulde, JDRC, Rarity7, Vince Lacariere, Legend, Marks coins, NFC but a no show and Don Bonser at spot, Numismatic Americana, MBRC, Bill Wetzel, - Overflow room (I think) Elite Diversified, Coast to Coast, Bruce Braga, Ken Byrd, Customized Num, Arnold coin, VCD.

Some "talk" on a side note:
There are now 3 shows in 3 weeks next year (2026). Who will be attending which?

The new Long Beach Feb 18 - 20 (W to F) ..... Will it have a future location change(?)
Then the ANA (Georgia) Feb 26 - 28 (Th to Sat)
Then Baltimore March 5 - 7 (Th to Sat) ..... Changing Hall location

    .
Was at the Park MGM, which is the old Monte Carlo (just north of the NYNY). It has been at this location for 2 plus years or so. Prior to that and prev-covid it moved around and generally at higher end locations (Bellagio, Venetian, Cosmo, Caesar's.....). I recall one time at Luxor and many saying they didn't like anything about the Luxor. :D

I remember the old Monte Carlo. There was a fire there ~15 years ago and I don’t think they ever recovered from it. I remember the fire at the MGM in the early 80’s with multiple people dying.
