Hi all
Back to searching after a very long pause.
Living in France so sorry if not always clearly understandable 😅
Hope I didn’t forget my coin knowledge
Going through quarters and found this one with other color on obverse

You asked the same questions in your last post back in 2021:
https://forums.collectors.com/discussion/1058252/2005-d-ocean-view-nickel-improperly-annealed#latest
What does that tell you?
Theres a good pic there of what your looking for in the post. Copy it to somewhere for future reference 👍
oh indeed longer than I thought.
thx for your answers
After reading this post again, I undertand that it is difficult to know if layer is missing or not
as weight is same as normal coin it can only be an improper annealed or pmd ...

improperly annealed is a different look and color
The random single post guy at the end was interesting.
Yes, he waited a year to post and then was never heard from again...Maybe a year from now he'll post on this thread.
Then in another 4 years, mok13 can come back with another damaged coin, ask the same questions about improper annealing and missing clad layers, and the whole cycle can begin again...
Would be kind of a Truman show 😅
