1998 Philadelphia strong Die Trails obverse

This is probably one of the strongest die trail listing they have (aside from the 1975 P cent obverse trail die) on traildies website. This is the result of extreme die polishing. Not as common as most die wear errors, and some people argue its rarity due to the fact that its just die wear, but there is a website dedicated to their listings.

But I myself love die trails and always look for them. Its not for everyone but if you are die variety obsessed like me, try to find some of these! They often get confused with linear plating blisters. But if you take a look at their listings (read descriptions) you might find something!

Anyways hope you learned something from this, and enjoy! Leave a comment if you feel like it, or have some die trails yourself you would like to share.

Nice pictures. I routinely search $25 cent boxes and have seen some of those. Not many but a few.
Thanks for the education, I will now set aside these if fortunate to come across them again.
    Are there additional dates?

    Later, Paul.

The 1975 cent appears to be struck through a late stage die cap, rather than a trail die.

  • No thats what they called die trails. Its on their die trails website so idk what to tell you other than they have it listed on traildies website.

In that case, their website is incorrect.

    .

The 1975 cent looks to me like a late-stage capped die strike, not a "die trails".

Yes and No. How can that be? :o
A third choice the OP is incorrect? Partially.
It is on the traildies website but a little more to the story.

As noted the traildies.com is not working but From the waybackmachine:

Thank you. Coppergold being incorrect should have been my default expectation based on his track record here. ;)
