Anyone have the latest news about whether 2026 US Mint and Proof Sets will have 1c pieces or not?

Presumably yes. The mint has said there will still be cents struck for collectors.

I heard it from a friend, who heard it from a friend.
I believe I read on the mint site that the government had made the last cents for circulation, but they will continue to be included in Proof and Mint Sets.
