GACC Show Rosemont, IL September 23-27 (Public September 24-27)

The Great American Coin & Collectibles (GACC) Show is next week, September 24-27, 2025 (for Public) at the Stephenson Convention Center in Rosemont, IL. We hope you, your family, your friends, and your neighbors attend. We also hope your favorite dealer has a table at the show.

Here is a link to the show website: https://gacc.show

I’ll highlight some of the things you might find interesting about the show and/or answer frequent questions.

PCGS, the Official On-site Grader, will be offering onsite grading. They will also be accepting submissions to take back to the office.

Heritage Auctions, the Official Auctioneer, we be offering lot view for an upcoming auction.

The Dealer Index and Table Numbers for the GACC Show in Rosemont was updated on the website on 9/17/25. It may be further updated before the show as a few more dealers have been added. The number of table holder/table assistant badges (often referred to as “Dealers”) is about 700. This does not include staff, club table, Early Access, or Equal Access Passes. There are many more dealers that have registered to attend using an Early Access, Equal Access, or Public Pass. The Show Floor has over 400 tables.

Rather than having club tables in the back of the room, we offered various coin clubs tables in the Lobby. We thought this is a better location for them to promote their club and shows to collectors, dealers, and general public. The clubs featured at this show are:
• Cincinnati Numismatic Association (CNA)
• Illinois Numismatic Association (ILNA)
• Pennsylvania Association of Numismatics (PAN)
The Anti-Counterfeit Educational Foundation (ACEF) will also have a table in the Lobby.

The Show Floor is placed in a 220,000 square foot hall (Hall F), which is huge. Given the way the Show Floor is set up, and where the entrance is, led to starting with a 400 row rather than a 100 row. The decorator provides did an initial plan showing how the hall can be completely filled with booths. This initial plan starts with a 100 row. From there the plan was edited down to fit the generally expected size and needs of the show. As booths are sold and various booth holder needs arise, the floor plan is adjusted. Though out the process there are mark-ups to the floor plan here and there. The final marked up floor plan was given to decorator this past week. The final floor plan has 15 rows with booths on either side. There are a lot of corner booths as many dealers prefer that over two adjacent straight tables. Don’t worry, we did not create a maze. With the row signs and booth signs. as with most shows. it should be pretty straight forward with the Dealer Index to navigate around the Show Floor without a map.

I do have ideas for future floor designs that address decades old issues some dealers have with most floor layouts, but that, and many other show innovations are for another day. These future designs not only benefit some dealers, they will also improve portions of the floor for collectors and other attendees as well. And, while not a maze, perhaps a map may be useful for some for the future floor designs.

Prior to the portion of the show on the large Show Floor, we have a Dealer Trading Room on Wednesday for table holders/table assistants, Equal Access Pass holders, and Early Access Pass holders. Pre-show dealer-to-dealer transactions hasw been important to many dealers for decades. With so many forms of online sales formats available today, and the heavy use of the same by so many dealers, being able to meet with large wholesalers and other key suppliers in an environment for high volume transactions is very important to support some business models. In fact, for some dealers, this is the most important part of the show. Hence, we offer a Dealer Trading Room at a nominal cost for those wanting a table in the room, and no additional cost for table holders/table assistants, Equal Access Pass holders, and Early Access Pass holders that attend to buy, sell, trade with the Dealer Trading Room table holders.

Dealer setup on the Show Floor begins late Wednesday afternoon and continues Thursday morning. The show opens to the Public at 10 am on Thursday. There is a $10 fee for a 3-day Pass for Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. Over the last year, we have given away thousands of free admission coupons for one free day.

Be sure to check out all areas of the floor. We offered booth options for all dealer level levels and budgets, small to large. Sometimes a budget section limits the value material can be offered at. We do not require any limit. A dealer can have a Budget or Super Budget table and sell Stella’s if they have them. Budget and Super Budget table offerings are just a way to convey the relative price of the table, not the value of material offered..

In addition, to the large number of dealers on the Show Floor, we have other features to enhance the show experience for collectors, dealers, and general public. For example, on the Show Floor, we have the Numismatic Educational Journey (NEJ). Many shows have an exhibit section where exhibits are grouped together somewhere on the show floor, but away from the dealer tables, or as I refer to it as away from “the action.” We think numismatic education is important and want to make it easy for attendees to view. The NEJ integrates educational exhibits into the Show Floor and distributes them at dealer tables throughout the floor. All attendees received a list of the exhibit titles, hosting dealers, and locations- be sure to pick up the NEJ sheet in the Registration. With this approach attendees can enjoy exhibits in “bite size pieces” while still being in “the action.” There is a code at each exhibit. Attendees that collect all the codes and turn in a completed NEJ sheet are eligible for prize drawings. They also get to vote for their favorite exhibit.

To make some of the exhibits even more informative, some are interactive. At the S.S. Central America Artifacts + Science exhibit, Bob Evans and Greg Darnstadt can guide you through the exhibit and answer questions. My table (1607) will feature the #1 PCGS, all-tine finest, Standing Liberty Quarter Date Set. The set owner will be there to discuss his set and answer questions. There are 15 other exhibits scheduled.
.
The also features a speaker series at the show, including
• “SS Central America 1857, The Times and The Treasure+Times,” Bob Evans and Greg Darnstadt
• “Gold, Gold Bullion, and the Coin Market Ahead,” Scott Travers
• “What’s Going On At The Coin Show,” Greg Allen
The latter answers questions such as:
- Why do dealers leave early?
-Why are there dealers constantly piled around that dealer’s table?
-Why won't this dealer talk to me?
-Why doesn't this dealer have any coins in their case?
-Why are the coins in a jumbled mess in the dealer’s case? I can't see what they have.
-Why is that dealer carrying a light around?
And answers to many more questions you may have about what is going on at the coin show.

We hope to see you, your family, your friends, and your neighbors at the show.

See the website for more details. I need to get back to working on some final show details.
