I picked up very few coins in 2025 (budget wise I am done for the year minus maybe 1-2 specific coins) but happy with the coins I was able to add to my collection. Some tough ones finally came off my want list.
I have 33 coins with our hosts…..accumulated over around 10 years. Nothing very valuable, just coins I’ve picked up here and there based 100% on eye appeal.
I’m excited to get them back! I don’t dabble too much in world coinage so having them holdered finally makes it a landmark year for me
Mixed bag. I added to my 1896 PR collection, but the 2025 editions of the Komsco coins I collect were way more expensive than last year due to tariffs.
The substantial truth doctrine is an important defense in defamation law that allows individuals to avoid liability if the gist of their statement was true.
The weakened/weakening dollar and tariffs are having an impact. Still not clear to me if coins should be impacted by tariffs or not... but DHL and FedEx sent me bills!
Not too bad. Have picked up a few I needed. My German dealer now lives in Switzerland so I have dramatically increased my Swiss collection. I am totally confused to what the tariffs mean, they seem to change frequently! I have not bought anything direct from the European auction houses this year. I have had my Swiss dealer buy them and hold them for me right now.
I sold about 20% of my collection this year, in terms of the overall number of coins.. Althought the total value of my collection fell by <5%. It's part of my long-term effort of consolidating and focusing on quality.
I also added about half a dozen coins to the core area of my collection that I want to keep working on. I'm hoping some more targets show up in the September-November timeframe. It has been a light year in terms of what's available.

I'll let you know at the end of the year.
