It may be a good idea to keep it to relatively noticeable varieties, rather than needing to sort through 30+ variations of essentially the same doubling looking for a matching die crack.
You are correct about the satin finish, but there is a die variety there. For a hint, on that particular coin, there is a diagnostic easier to spot than the variety itself.

Ah, silly me. FS-101 as well.

I'm personally ok with it, but I think it would be rather limiting to the participant field. It would take a rather adept cherrypicker to be able to narrow it down IMO, and there's not a ton of those out there. PCGS varieties are much more accessible for the collector just starting in varieties.
Correct @FlyingAl you are up.
I like the inclusion of minor varieties in this thread for the learning exercise and research opportunity it provides. That said, that 09 was tough. Based on ddr 66 I would not attribute it as such, since the die cracks appeared different on variety vista compared to Watersport’s example.

One of the issues with any variety designation is the reference photos. You must always match the same orientation of the reference pics to yours. Overlays are even better.
Al's 61 is giving me double vision!

Bingo! The best variety I've had the pleasure to image.
God comes first in everything I do. I’m dedicated to serving Him with my whole life. Coin collecting is just a hobby—but even in that, I seek to honor Him. ✝️
No, not it. This particular variety was my first ever buffalo variety cherry pick. I looked up the page on cherry pickers guide and decided to look for one and found it immediately in au58. That coin later got a CAC sticker and is still in my collection

Is it something more than 7TF, reverse of 1878, long nock, parallel feathers? I have not identified any doubling, or scratches. Just a faint crack around the reverse letters

I noticed the disconnected leaf but cannot see the split on the 1. On your pic it looks like the top left of the 1 has something going on. Interesting VAM, it is totally fine to post VAMs. Any die varieties are cool.

The Satin Finish variation of the design.

It was a good challenge for sure, I did not know there were so many similar ddr for that year.
