Picked-up tonight on eBay this nice 1810 over-assayer in an older NGC holder. While I already have an example of this variety in AU53, it's a different die pair and the over-assayer is not as prominent as today's example. HJ/TH over-assayers are observed with the Armored Bust series of Ferdinand VII with 1809, 1810, and 1811 dates. Personally, i really like seeing all 3 elements of the variety - T underneath the H, repositioned dot between assayer initials, and H under the J. This new coin shows 2 out of the 3 markers pretty clearly. I'll update the post with better images once i have it in-hand.

Yonaka calls this variety an R2 with four die pairs and five examples observed.

Both NGC and PCGS recognize this variety. However there's a reverse die that appears to be an HJ with a repositioned J that often gets called an HJ/TH. I've looked at a dozen or so examples of this reverse die and it appears a number of letters were repunched slightly to the right, including the 8 and R in the denomination.

Rutherford had an example of this reverse die that shows the repositioning pretty well:

Here are some other examples of this variety. Can you spot the different reverse dies?
