I received the same reply to my report but am not the least bit surprised. Recently, that’s been what occurs a very high percentage of the time, even for laughable counterfeits like this one. However, sometimes the listings still get removed later.

Actually, I wasn’t surprised at all but I guess that I failed to adequately convey my sarcasm. At this point I can’t even remember the last time I’ve received a response from eBay that hasn’t said that the listing wasn’t in violation.
I only report these days hoping that if they receive enough other reports that maybe they’ll do something.
I considered rhe possibility that you were being sarcastic but wasn’t sure, so posted as if your reply was serious.

This seems to be the new eBay boilerplate. It's amazing that they care so little for their brand name. I received the same response when I reported an obvious counterfeit to them. This thing is beyond the definition of a COUNTEREIT. It's a **SCREEMING COUNTERFEIT. **
No worries, tone can be difficult to communicate at times through brief exchanges like this.
I'm guessing there's a magic number of complaints before eBay removes a counterfeit. One or two complaints are ignored while 10 or 12 complaints results in the counterfeit being removed. I don't know what this magic number is and it might change depending on the value of the item being sold.

yeah, they send those canned responses, but eventually they can get brought down

This shows how poorly informed (I want say dumb) some bullion buyers are. This thing doesn’t even look “golden enough.”

It’s good to see that eBay finally took action.
It’s bad that they seem to do so in such few instances. And that they frequently first message those of us who make reports that the listing isn’t in violation of their policy.

I received the same canned response as everyone else when I reported it. Glad to see it did get taken down today. :-)
Interesting this one got the full EBAY action a account deletion and listing..The seller had 8 feedbacks so something was up with seller.

I know this can be worked around. So far I have only seen it in other categories of items, such as appliances and the like, but who knows, Chinese sellers might be expanding into offering "USA shipping" for counterfeits too.
