LOL Ebay said this listing is NOT in violation of any of its policies

I reported it as a counterfeit and got this:
What happened:
We looked into your report and didn’t find the listing to be in violation of our policy. This determination was made using automation or artificial intelligence.
You heard it here... nowhere in ebay policy does it state you have to sell authentic coins, and it also doesn't state that if you put PCGS, it must be in a PCGS slab with pictures of the front and back.
Hey, at least it's PQ!

I recently reported a scam listing (not coin-related) that was offering to sell a one-of-a-kind artifact that is in the Smithsonian. I included a link to the relevant Smithsonian page, and a link to the site from which the listing photographs were stolen. I got the same reply you got, except that it said the determination was made by a customer service representative, not AI.
The same seller listed a dozen other rarities with stolen photos. Lots of people reported them with the same eBay response. I can only guess eBay considers it financially better to pay off occasional buyers through their protection program than to risk offending scammers by pulling obvious fake sales.
It’s no longer listed from what I can tell
There have been a number of occasions in which I've received that reply from eBay, but the listing was subsequently removed.
Their reporting system, including replies and failure to remove many blatant counterfeits has become a very bad joke.

I started back on Ebay 23 yrs ago. It's really sad how ebay has deteriorated over the years. Their platform has become nothing more than a greedy format for thieves and cons. The good sellers are slowly getting eaten up by the bad ones and the innocent buyers are forced to spend more time researching what they want to purchase. Jmo

This joker lists this fake coin a few days ago, I got NGC involved, and finally the original auction got yanked. Then the seller immediately just relists the same fake coin again. eBay says everything is a-ok.

AI says it is OK. AI is never wrong.
I had the same thing happen to me when I reported an almost equally bad 1794 Dollar to them.
Some people say that their replies are made by "AI" If that's their "AI" it's pretty darn stupid.
AI = Automated Idiocy (usually)
Yeah... it's been my experience that if you need an answer fast and you don't care if it's right or wrong... AI!

Has anyone told ebay their AI algorithm sucks.
Whoever is careless with the truth in small matters cannot be trusted with important matters.
lots of people not reading the ebay threads
this is a massively common result of reporting
it discourages further reporting
however, if a large group of people report it will eventually be taken down
==
look for "ebay" and "counterfeit" in the thread title and report the listing in it, too. the more of us doing it will have them eventually taken down! do not give up!
No one with money is going to touch anything of substantial value without clear verifications.
Pretty clear...
and providing them with such evidence is useless too
I still tried...
me too. that's how i know
eBay returned an AOK verdict on the listing, but I messaged the seller, and he ended it himself. NGC had noted the issue on the cert.
