Anyone going to the PNNA Show today or tomorrow in Tukwila?

The last time I was at a PNNA show was either late 1992 or early 1993, before I relocated to CA. Seems like that was at least one or two (or three) lifetimes ago.
I know there are half a dozen folks on this board I have communicated with here and there over the years that are in the Pacific Northwest and may be attending, and I'd love to meet them, and more of you if you are attending.
Being that I returned to the PNW recently, my intent was always to start showing up again. Never know what friends I'll make or treasures I'll find.
Chime in if you're going and you want to put a face with a name. PM's work too.
Hopefully we can meet this afternoon or tomorrow morning/early afternoon.
Happy Hunting!

Be careful if you meet up with @Swampboy, or especially @SeattleSlammer ...both are big huggers types of dudes
I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment
Unfortunately I missed @Swampboy
I got stuck in traffic and I think he left before I showed up. Hopefully we'll catch up tomorrow if he comes back.
I should be there by about 1030

Planning on next year, is this a good show?
I used to hit this show when I lived in Western Washington every year. I always thought it was a pretty good show. I came away with some nice coins every time I went. Since I moved to Spokane, I haven't been able to make it over in quite a while. My kids seem to have Spring Break every week this show happens.
The Penny Lady will be there, and a few other dealers l like to see... Americana Rare Coin, DJ's Coins, and West Coast Coins.
TBD
Table 10 for me, stop by and say hello!
I like most dealers i spoke with before the show was quite curious about how the show would go with all the economic turmoil and am pleasantly surprised to report that sales were brisk to downright chaotic today!
It was a good show for me. Got a few upgrades for my 7070 type album
Don't know how I missed @2windytofish's table though. We looked for sure.
I ran into the widget whisperer @seattleslammer but never got to see what he picked up.
I might get back again tomorrow and meet @pursuitofliberty

Hope to meet some of you there. I have a box with me too, with a couple cool show and tell's. There a few theoretically for sale CBH’s in there too.
Gray goatee and glasses, 6'2 and 230, jeans and some print short sleeve shirt (probably loud colors today), a black backpack with an orange and white Belimo logo and an orange water bottle in it. Don't be shy. I'm generally not once I meet people.

Any updates?
I didn't make it out there so want to live vicariously

@pursuitofliberty: hope you picked up a few winners! We missed your new coin post in yesterday’s “Saturday Morning Coffee with Coins”. But, it was nice of you to stop in anyway!

Well, not really a show report, per se, but I was able to meet and have lunch with John @CircCam on Saturday, and we dragged along a BHNC Member with us, which was great. That lunch, and talking with those guys was really the highlight of the show for me, other than chatting with a few other people.
I had never met John in person, although we have texted back and forth more than once ... and so getting to spend some time with him was really nice. He brought some fantastic coins to show, and he has a VERY good eye for original early Federal coins. I was impressed with the box, and there were a couple in there I would have probably bought on the spot if they had been for sale.
Talking with Nut was also great, especially getting him to share some tidbits of his stories and wisdom regarding the hobby. I have met him before, but only briefly at the BHNC Club meetings. It was also interesting to find out that he owned one of my most cherished CBH's, before it had a short-term home and then made it to me. When I asked where he got it, I think the statement was, "Not really sure I remember, I think I had it over 30 years before I consigned it to Sheridan."
While I didn't find anything to add to the collection, I did raise a little money for the next one (whenever and wherever that is), and I was able to see some nice Currency selections (which John and I examined a few of, together), and a few nice Capped Bust Halves.
I also got to talk with Gawain O. @carabonnair (another BHNC guy), and learned more about his desire and obsession with 1795 Half Dollars.
Oh, and on Friday, a young 12 year old with braces and her dad caught my eye, as she seemed very interested in all the things she was looking at with coins, albeit a little timid. I decided to approach them, and end up showing her my most recent 1807 DBH and a wonderful CBH 1828 that I had brought in my box for show and tell, and talked to her a little about the nature of hand-made dies and edge lettering. She was fascinated, and as we parted company, I hoped that someday she might help carry us all forward.
All in all, it was a very nice show. I'll hope next time I'll meet up with more of the locals that still post here, and maybe find a keepsake.

Here's the coin in question.
For most of us, can you imagine having such a coin for 30 years, and it wasn't even significant enough to remember much about it? In fact, he talked more about the other two 1808 O-108's he still had (both the prime and the 'a' state).
But his collection is beyond world class, and so is he.

Another year blown by that I wasn't able to make it. Bummed about that!
Living hours north now, and a boat ride away, makes it especially difficult.
Hopefully next year!

Thanks for the kind words, Todd! Had a great time hanging with you and the schooling was truly appreciated. Which reminds me, I need to examine my fledgling currency collection now with my newfound skills to discover just how bad it is. Haha.
I believe I have met Gawain if he’s who I think he is, but never knew he was into early halves. Will have to produce my avatar coin at some point and strike up a conversation.
….Incredible 1808 (which looks like a 58 by the way.)
@Bochiman - Would love to catch up in October if you make it down.
As for the show - I didn’t find anything for my core collection either, I saw a lot of nice coins as always, just not dates I needed. B.U.S.T.’s table was missed as I was looking forward to diving into his inventory with @pursuitofliberty - that’s the first PNNA I recall where he wasn’t there, hope all is well.
I did stock up on silver in lieu of bust halves though, my favorite pickups were these vintage art bars:
Until next time….
One last update.
I was shown a coin at the show that I passed on because I already have that die marriage in a grade I figured was a good set piece (I didn't remember my coin - a problem I think I may have a solution for going forward, and one I definitely need to rectify). Upon returning home I viewed the pictures of mine, and my heart sank a little. His was NOTICEABLY nicer.
I dropped him a line last night, and we're going to get together for coffee soon ... and I'll be a little poorer, but will have a NEWP for a later thread!

Good to see you again, Todd. Thanks for chatting with me - I was still jet-lagged and love to ramble on at coin shows. A bit sorry I could only stay for one day this time.
@CircCam nice "small head", looks better than the one I have.
Yes, Jeff is very knowledgeable. He attended a mini seminar about early half dollars a few years ago at the PNNA, perhaps it's time to set up another in the near future...

Wish I was. Too many shows coming up (CSNS and Denver) and I am not getting around so well. Had a spill at the Baltimore show and recovery is very slow. Tukwila is among my favorite shows though, as a dealer and just a coin guy.
It’s a great show for me because it’s so convenient and it’s the one sizable show on the area (well, one show twice a year). Alas, I had prior plans this time around, so no dice. Should be able to squeeze in a few hours at the next one, though it’s also badly timed for me. Wonder how next spring is looking…

You're one of the ones I really enjoy chatting with! Hope to catch up in the fall!
I'm also surprised Mr Emtman wasn't there. I enjoy looking at, and occassionally buying from, BUST's table.
Knowledgeable and smart and good guy.

I'll hope we can all get together at the next one, even if not for a quick pass through the show and a bite to eat nearby.
That goes for everyone that post's here in the area. I used to do the show circuit here as a young man right out of the Navy (I grew up around Seattle and returned after my military time, before leaving again a few years later). I didn't recognize anyone in particular (32 years is a long time), but I feel like I've known some of you for quite a while from these boards.
Especially on Spring days like today, it is so good to be back in the great NW.
